That's interesting because I kinda thought about a scenario where "Mega Corp X" comes in and buys up loads of steep power and starts spamming the crap out of us...
I know everyone wants everything decentralized and all that but at the end of the day Steemit is just php-sql pulling from the blockchain and could easily add an admin panel to block such abuse.
Members in good standing could even vote on and impeach said admins...
Since Steem and Steemit are open-source softwares, we could start again in that not likely case. Even Mega Corp X has not infinite money to buy out every relaunched Steem clone.
From a buyout, the brand would suffer, but not the idea.

Just a thought, thanks for the reply...
Then no one would use Steemit, price'd reach near zero, and it'd be a bad investment for the "Mega Corp X" after all.
What if it was in Mega Corp X interest to take down steemit? It's not unusual for corps to try to buy out competitors.
