RE: Plagiarist about to walk off with $2,800 less than 8 hours to act, I did my part.

I believe pay per vote programs are responsible for most of these trash posts moving to the top. Unfortunately it also helps to increase the price of steem because people buy sbd to pay for upvotes which trickles in to steem. I'm still not sure how this will affect the long term outlook of steem, Ive been thinking a lot about this lately. What do you think?

Sort:

There is too much trash and too much top.

When I go to HOT section, its just a sea of pay per vote posts, it's gotten out of control!

I have no problem with pay per vote, every platform has promotion, it's the paid votes on shit content that makes a profit, that's what is bullshit.

Yes, but it's human nature to make profit, so people are not going to stop pay per upvoting there shit posts as long as its profitable. How can it be stopped?

My proposal is to mark paid upvoted content as "sponsored" or "promoted" prominently, so that other Steemians are not deceived and can distinguish organic from paid content like on other social media platforms. Similar what is already done in the promoted tab but on the trending and hot tab as well.

That's actually a great idea!

That is an awesome idea. Like when I search for content in google. I want the organic content and not the sponsored stuff. I naturally think sponsored content has vested interest and not for my benefit.

hmmm....learning

Question for everyone. And allow me to ask an ignorant question here. If payable bots was taken away here what would actually happen to the platform?

I am sure the content would be better. Not as good as reddit as there is still the vested interest of money. But would a lot of people who have a lot of money staked in steemit leave causing this platform to crash? Like when the Indonesian kicked out all the Chinese (ones with money) it fucked up their economy.

I would really like to hear some thoughts on this one.

Unfortunately it also helps to increase the price of steem

Wait.. isn't that a good thing? :S

I would have to agree with you on that. I love it here, but the steem price is more important.

I will study it as much as possible, hopefully I can be successful as you all 2018 are ready to become more profitable!
I'm sure 2018 will be a lucky day for me ,,, with the help of all of you.
