Thinking About Leaving Hive :(

in #abuse4 years ago

I have become the target of one of the whales on Hive, @slobberchops and his many accounts just because I self vote my 5 post I do a day which gives me an extra $1 a day. When I know he owns at least 6 different accounts all voting on each other. I don't bother anyone here and accept what I earn on my post until people like @slobberchops and @steevc which is another @slobberchops account keep messing with me. If you have not noticed it's always people making $30-$50 dollars a post complaining about the little people making $1 or more, but yet some of these whales have 100-1000 accounts or more and don't show up as self voting but they are just voting on all their own accounts.
I will be leaving soon and in their own words it won't be a big loss. So now @slobberchops can now make $50.01 instead of $$50. I'm not saying all whales are the the same but if you want hive to survive people looking for abuse better start looking into these whales that are abusing Hive.
I have only been here on hive for about 2 months but it seems like the only thing the whales want to do on hive is run people off.
I post beautiful professional photos and don't make shit and I see so many shitty photos making $10-$50 dollars and those accounts are probably owned by whales.
Decentralized ??????? I don't think so.

Don't go! Please don't think you are the first to 'rage quit' and you are not even getting flagged.

The only thing @slobberchops and I have in common is a desire to see Hive succeed. We are definitely different people living hundreds of miles apart with different interests and different wives. We do have multiple accounts each, but those are not for self-voting, in my case at least.

Maybe you should look into why @slobberchops gets good votes. He has invested thousands in buying Steem and Hive as well as travelling to two Steemfest events (as have I). We make connections with people who support us.

Why not be more part of the community instead of just taking? You post several times each day, but get very little engagement. If you spread your votes and comments around that could change. You could even make more that way, as @steemychicken1 seems to agree.

You can do whatever you want here, but so can others and if they think you are not contributing to making Hive better then they may decide you do not deserve all your rewards. That is their choice and it is yours to proceed as you see fit.

Live well and have fun.

I encourage you to not let them force you out. I truly enjoy your content, amazing post-editing skills, and know others do as well. I think this is a prime example of someone jealous of your quality content vs. their constant "re-steeming" others quality content and not seeing their own garbage being upvoted. Some like this detract from the platform and even the "helpful", "supportive" and "positive" concepts that the original STEEM and HIVE were built upon. The shame is theirs, not yours. If the intent is to shame and guilt those that self-vote their own quality posts, then the capability should be removed from the platform. I agree that it could perhaps to be considered abuse to upvote every single self comment and reply, but why is it frowned upon by some to upvote your own quality post? I don't understand this logic. Why shouldn't we be proud of our own hard work and be allowed to gather the small reward for ourselves by upvoting our own content if we like it, just like anyone else is free to do. Especially when some of those our voting our own content to reclaim maybe a small bit of investment we made into the system in the belief it could actually become something. This sounds like control-crazy, power hungry, self flagellating individuals that should grow up and maybe create their own content instead of milking off of others. I'm going to go self vote some of my own posts now just to fuck with them. I don't really care if they downvote me now. Holy shit, I've typed more in two posts on this than I've typed in a month. Hey @slobberchops, why don't you think about quit being an asshole and help support this great platform and the quality content providers so we can all build the system instead of destroy it? Or is that really your secret agenda, some kind of Steem/Tron Spy sent to infiltrate and disrupt?

Hey @slobberchops, why don't you think about quit being an asshole and help support this great platform and the quality content providers so we can all build the system instead of destroy it?

Why don't you check out what I do instead of using blanket statements like this? You have no idea about me or what I do here.

I looked at your content last night, it's good. I think you are a decent content creator for what it's worth.

The self-votes, do it.., I have nothing against you self-voting you own posts. There is a lot more to this what you are seeing. I don't pick on people for no reason. I want it to be great, just like you.

Hi 🤚🏾 I don't think you should leave just spread your vote around that's the main thing I've started a community you are more than welcome there

Did you consider not doing that?

Not doing what?

Not doing what they are downvoting you for.

Also, I don't see any downvotes of significance in the last week... what am I missing?

there are no down votes yet. and no hive is supposed to be decentralizized so what ever the code allows should be ok.

dont worry i am here. in case they start downvoting.

and dont self vote all your posts.. you can give a like to other people, and actually get more from curation.

Well said. I'm into engaging with people. I don't make enough to keep me coming back otherwise. I just want to see @halo become more a part of the community. What's wrong with that?

You shouldn't let a few people ruin it for ya... there's a mute button for a reason... Stick around....

i know but its bullshit

Can always find someone and upvote them and get them to slide you the buck... you know?

lol they would complain about that too

The obligatory, 'Im leaving' post. I will respond to my crimes of multiple personality disorder on @steevc's post when I get time.

I'd better not vote on this comment in case she still thinks I'm you :)

You are me... aren't you?

Now I'm not sure who I am!

Hopefully you change your mind, I genuinely enjoy your posts and would be sad to see you go.
