Would you like to earn bonus upvotes by fighting abuse?
We've offered a mechanism for the community to do just that using our Discord using the ?approve_mention_link function of the SteemFlagRewards bot. It's real easy.
Here are the requirements for your SteemFlagRewards mention comment to be upvoted.
- Must mention @steemflagrewards to be picked up by our query.
- Must mention the type of abuse from the following list:
comment spam, plagiarism, spam, copy/paste, identity theft, vote abuse, bid bot abuse, manipulation, collusive voting, copy/pasta,death threats, threat, vote farming, post farming, tag misuse, tag abuse
- SFR Discord ServerMust submit the command from our limited access #flag-comment-review channel on the
The script will be searching for any of these words. Please, only use lower case letters until we ensure the function is case insensitive.
As always, support goes LONG way to further the scale at which we combat the ever growing spam on the blockchain. If you decide to delegate, consider it a special investment for the long term viability of this platform. Greater upvote weight means more motivated abuse fighters to earn it. Fighting abuse requires sacrifice but it benefits us all when we are successful... except for scammers of course. 😉
More developments to come! Looking to further empowering the community to fight abuse via our crowdfunded incentivized Steem Flag Rewards system!

I'm definitely going on there. Not sure how to do this. Do I enter the username into some field on your discord channel, with the violation?
Hi @littlescribe, all you have to do is comment mentioning @steemflagrewards and the category of abuse from those listed above once we grant access to the channel. It's a relatively new thing and I'm pretty open about granting access. Later on, we will need to monitor and make sure that it's being used properly.
Please, consider voting for @pfunk as witness as the majority of the voting power is coming from him. I don't know when exactly it will end but I would like to build the account up so that it is rewarding comments with at least $0.05 SBD.
When people start realizing they can get a reward for marking and/or flagging spam, it's going to make a difference albeit small at first. Of course, said difference will be in proportion to the SP of the account. We may be small ripples in a pond now but later perhaps we will make waves. Time will tell.
How can we make the account grow? I'd be happy to do a video on it and maybe you could help me resteem it. I'll donate the earnings. Let me know what would help. Anything to keep this platform great. I'll be sure and vote for @pfunk. He's sponsoring a lot of great initiatives on a regular basis.
Most definitely! I video would be VERY COOL! Sorry took me so long to get back to you. Was away for a wedding for a few days and now I gotta play catch up. :)
More visibility for us would go a long way! Thank you for considering that. It means a lot!
I'd be happy to do a promotional video. Would you mind jotting down a quick bullet point of what you would like people to know? Or direct me to a summary of something that I can convert into a few minute sound byte? Maybe like a main page, or a couple of key rules that you look for people to abide by, and how they can earn. Something like that would help. Otherwise, I'll probably just throw something together and hope it sounds right.
Yeah, I think I can throw something together. Will let you know :)
And thank you!

great initiative... but the discord invite in this post is expired?!
Thanks, @fraenk! Sorry about that. This one should work.

yeap, thanks!
As @fraenk, I also think this is a great initiative, but there is one omission:
On your list of abuse, flagging abuse is sorely missing. Would you like to share an opinion on that problem and possible solutions?

Sure thing. Yes, I agree that flagging is not the "I disagree with you idealogically" button. No, it is about disagreement on rewards. I may even disagree with something ideologically but, if I believe that the content is truly thoughtful and has proof-of-brain as they say, I may even upvote it even if I disagree with the substance but may be less prone to do so.
How can we combat revenge flags? I think bringing the revenge flags to the eyes of the community is a good starting point perhaps in a post.
Perhaps even building an account from "healing" aka restoration of reputation on wrongful flags. The @flagawhale project has members that help out with this. I'll check out your posts. Thanks for the comment and support!
It's not just “revenge flags” @anthonyadavisii. There are sociopaths who flag others out of pure fun, without any reason.
This post has received a 0.22 % upvote from @drotto thanks to: @banjo.
