RE: The issue on Zombie papers in academia: what are they and why are they important?

in #academia8 years ago

I knew a friend who wrote a math paper (with others and a prof) on mathematical modelling a zombie outbreak. It is called When Zombies Attack!: Mathematical Modelling of an Outbreak of Zombie Infection.

I don't think the intention for the paper was for fame but I can't say for sure.

Sort:

hmmmm not sure. if you read carefully in this one.

Zombie papers: Basically, papers that contains fraud, errors, irregularities and serious flaws are called zombie papers.

Maybe the picture i used was misleading.

I have misread, sorry! Thought it was zombie themed papers.

To get back on track, scientific misconduct is an issue. I think that there are some people in their papers who try to aim for certain p-values in their statistical hypothesis testing. Beware of biases, misleading data reporting and so on.

Sure it is!
