Hello dear community
I have decided to write about my serious motorcycle accident on March 17th in Guatemala at Lake Atitlan. At first I started posting but didn't continue because I wasn't sure if it was a good idea, but now I think it will help me to process everything.

These are the pictures from the scene of the accident. It's just after San Juan. I've just returned from a motorcycle tour, like every Sunday for about 2 years, because I've organized motorcycle tours for people who want to explore the area but don't know their way around or who don't want to ride alone, because it's always safer in a group than traveling alone.
This turned out to be a good thing because on that Sunday I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. A 21-year-old local wanted to overtake a car on a bend and lost control of his motorcycle and drove into me. I fell and was seriously injured. My foot was almost severed from my leg, my shin was broken and so was my thigh. This was all on my left leg. My right hip was also broken and on both hands the ring finger on my left hand and the middle finger on my right hand were broken.
A friend who had come with me immediately organized the rescue team and made sure that I was transported to a private hospital in Panajachel, first by ambulance to the dock in San Juan, from there across the lake to Panajachel and from there by ambulance to the private hospital.
On the way there I lost about 6.5 liters of blood and was close to dying. But I was lucky, the universe had other plans for me and I survived, although I was seriously injured, but I am alive.
x-rays and photos of my broken legs
You will find out more in the next post, where I will write how I woke up in the hospital, how I felt shortly after the accident and how much it cost me first in the hospital and then afterwards.
OMG I'm so sorry you had to go through all that, I can't even begin to imagine all the pain you must have gone through. Of course it's a good idea for you to take up blogging again, I'm a firm believer that writing helps a lot and, on this platform we always get people to encourage us and share similar experiences.
I think you could do well to stop by the Catarsis community, it's a place to drain and share with people in vulnerable situations without fear of any harm: https://peakd.com/c/hive-110372/created
