The Company Is Interested To Build Waste Power Generation in Aceh

The energy company, PT Mega Power Mandiri, is interested in exploring to build a power plant by utilizing garbage at the Gampong Jawa municipal landfill in Banda Aceh.
Mayor of Banda Aceh Aminullah Usman in Banda Aceh, Saturday (28/4/2018), said the energy company has expressed interest in building a waste power plant.
"If this investment is realized, it will benefit Banda Aceh, besides increasing electricity supply, garbage in Banda Aceh can be utilized," he said.
The mayor said, from the results of the company's exposure, garbage at the landfill in Gampong Jawa, Kutaraja Sub-district, can generate electrical energy to reach two megawatts (MW)
"Previously, some have offered to build a garbage power plant in Gampong Jawa, asking for a minimum of 400 tons of garbage per day, while garbage in Banda Aceh is only 250 tons," said Aminullah Usman.
The cost of building a power plant will be fully borne by the Jakarta-based company. Meanwhile, Banda Aceh City Government is asked to provide land with an area of about two hectares.
Earlier, President Director of PT Mega Power Mandiri, Djoko Susanto, in his meeting with Banda Aceh Mayor Aminullah Usman conveyed his interest in building an energy-sourced power plant from waste.
According to him, with the productivity of public garbage of Banda Aceh City which reached 250 tons per day is sufficient as raw material to generate electricity of two megawatts.
"From 250 tonnes per day it can generate 2 MW electricity, and the construction of the power plant will not interfere with anything that the city government has built and programmed in the garbage dump," he said.
