The town of Meulaboh, Aceh Barat Indomesia was one of the most devastated areas of the tsunami in December 2004. 14 Years passed, Meulaboh was restored to a beautiful city. Like this!

1 decade is gone. 14 years of tsunami makes us not only affected by the disaster, but the whole world feel the pain we feel.

Earthquake that we have never felt. Tsunami that was never detected at the time. No one can forget the unbelievable sound of birds, animals and roar from a distance that we have no idea that it was a tsunami.
The Acehnese call it beuna (Aceh Language) or the Great Flood.

Soon, Aceh's earth was destroyed. Wounds everywhere, grief scream and happily seized by the ferocious tsunami Children are separated from the hugs of parents.
Parents are separated from the clutches of their children. We ran to the dry track, up higher. The empty gaze can not explain significance other than the step of finding the remaining life on the wrecked shipwreck.
And now, 14 years have passed. Very fast time Disasters bring smiles to all families. The treasure is lost by the current.
But we have forgotten it. We rise up according to human life and abilities in Aceh. We feel disgusted with grief along the bloody conflict. We really want peace.

Among other things, the western region of Aceh includes the lowland in the spotlight. News everywhere, Meulaboh, Aceh has been destroyed. Let him get into his memory, Meulaboh has now become the busiest city in Aceh besides Banda Aceh.
The city is so close to the sea that it can never breathe freely during a tsunami. The whole city was destroyed. People fled to the mosque (Baitul Makmur Mosque). The golden dome mosque that once was not as beautiful as it is now.
But look now, the mosque that houses thousands of people in the morning has become the most beautiful place. This mosque became one of the historical buildings for us. Not only that, this mosque is included in the most beautiful buildings in Aceh even in Indonesia.

A glimpse of the orange dome mosque in downtown Meulaboh. The mosque was built around 2000, but it was first built in 1987.
The Great Mosque of Baitul Makmur stands on an area of 5.2 hectares, 3,500 square meters and can accommodate 7000 pilgrims. The mosque has a main gate shaped Arc de Triomphe in central Paris, France.

Baitul Makmur Grand Mosque became the only gathering place in addition to fulfilling the obligations 5 times and one time on Friday. If at the beginning of the tsunami, various humanitarian activities started from here. Now the mosque with various calligraphy on every wall has become the center of religious activity of West Aceh Regency.

Then take a look at the whole city of Meulaboh!
The landscape of the affected area can be seen from above. This area is one area that can not be explained with words on December 26, 2004. However, the bitter memory has been obsolete and replaced with rows of buildings on the left and right.
This building is a famous shopping center in the capital district of West Aceh, Indonesia

I can feel the changes before and after the tsunami. Before the tsunami, Meulaboh only stood as a marginalized western city. After the tsunami, Meulaboh turned into a metropolitan small town.
Slightly excessive when I use the last word.
14 years have forgotten completely. Busyness makes you happy. The day passed quickly without looking back.

thanks to relatives and nations who have witnessed our city, our country, who has helped us from the tsunami, Aceh Indonesia.
