Grasshopper is a herbivorous insect of the suborder of Caelifera in Orthoptera order. This insect has an antenna that is almost always shorter than its body and also has a short ovipositor. The sound generated by some grasshopper species is usually produced by rubbing the rear femur against the front or abdominal wings called stridulation, or by flapping its wings while flying. The rear femur is generally long and strong which is suitable for jumping.
These insects are generally winged, although their wings are sometimes unavailable to fly. The female locusts are generally larger than the male grasshoppers. This grasshopper size is smaller than the size of a common grasshopper, this type of grasshopper is almost the same as the stone grasshopper but the difference with the grasshopper, the locust is not spiked and the rim is not too hard.

The grasshopper has a shorter antenna than its length. This antenna works as a touch sensing sensor, temperature, vibration, air movement, smell and taste. The locust has no ear, but has a tympanium as its earpiece. It is located in the abdomen near the wing.

The shape of Tympanium resembles a large round disc in which there are several processors and nerves

That function to detect vibrations in the air. To breathe, this type of insect uses the trachea. The grasshopper breeds in a generative way that is by marriage. The locust reproduction organ is called aedeagus, while the female locust has ovary as its conception.

The males who have smaller body portions, will fertilize the female by way of its body.

Furthermore, the locusts will distribute the spermatophere into the oviposition of the female. Then the sperm enters the egg through micropyles.

Furthermore spermatozoa will be stored and processed inside the ovary. In the breed, locusts include oviparous animals that breed by laying eggs.

Egg formation process lasts 3 - 4 days. The female will put her eggs into the ground using ovipositor at the tip of her stomach. During egg laying, the female can produce up to 300 eggs.

In addition to the soil, other media that can be used to lay eggs is on stems, leaves and flower plants. Eggs that have been stored, will be left for months and in the summer will hatch.
