He told of a historic mosque in the capital the kingdom of Aceh, on the Aceh-Dutch wartime, and the people spared in this mosque, when the earthquake and tsunami in Aceh on December 2004.

Having full control of the capital of the kingdom of Aceh in Koetaradja (now Banda Aceh) within the Dutch empire army rule, then controlled by the civilian government and the military based in the Dutch East Indies Batavia, Java.
Then comes the good intentions of the ruling Dutch East Indies during the period of Governor General Johan Wilhelm van Lansberge March 1877, he promised to rebuild the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque.

The promise was finally set period Major General Karel Van Der Heijden as military governor of Aceh precisely on Thursday, October 9th, 1879 groundbreaking ceremony, and was completed in 1881 only the dome. Its construction continues to be 3 and 5 domes.
Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is dedicated to the people of Aceh, hopes that war can be eased. But the war continued until the Dutch East Indies government surrendered to the Japanese in 1942.
