Tourists love the salted fish here

in #aceh7 years ago

TO get to the south west coast of Aceh, we must pass a road, from Banda Aceh to Meulaboh. The road is the main (only) road that can be used, because of the high mountains and hills beside it.

If you ever crossed the road, then you will be served by the eye-saving sight. Starting from the view of the Indian Ocean coast, and the hills with shady and green trees.

Besides that, when we are entering Lhok Seudu area (Aceh Besar Regency), then we will see along the roadside, people who sell salted fish. Which is produced by fishermen from the village.

Well, I wanna tell you all, in addition to being a steemian here, I also still persevering my work as a tour guide. I am active to accompany foreign tourists to get around Aceh. then one of the places I bring is to Lhok Seudu.

Village located on track Meulaboh road is now enlivened by salted fish sellers, which has been recognized for its delicacy by various tourists and guests who come.

Because many tourists have come here, when they visit again, they still visit the saltwater fish sales center on this side street.

The salted fish sellers in the region consist of the mothers (old ladies). Because most of their husband's jobs are fishermen. So, to be able to market the fish caught in the sea, the mothers help the husband (the father of their children) to sell it to customers.

To work the process of salting fish, they do in their own homes. Because there are also fresh fish that are not salted, fishermen sell it freshly in the fish market, in separate places. Usually in urban areas, or in densely populated areas.

I saw various types of salted fish. Even I myself don't know the names of these fish, it's too difficult to explain them in English because people here named the fish in the local language.

As you can see in the picture, I have documented several fish types that have been salted here.

But, besides fish, the fishermen here also marinate shrimp and squid. All have a distinctive flavor. I myself really like the salted anchovy and dried shrimp.

I have told the seller to wrap it up, at least I will bring home 1kg of dried shrimp and 1kg of salty anchovy.

The salted fish seller only relies on the table, the roadside market is still not permanent, now still temporary. This is because there is no place they can use. After all, this is meant so they can find customers who travel on that road.

The sellers pile salted fish on the table, so visitors/buyers can easily pick the salted fish that will take home.

I have seen some cars parked by the roadside, passengers deliberately stopped, to shop for salted fish from Lhok Seudu fishermen - Aceh Besar.

At Lhokseudu we can buy salted fish.

Lhok Seudu is most popular place for salted fish in Aceh. Thanks :)

ini merupakan makanan kesukaan saya bg @steemvest17, saya tidak menyangka bahwa turis juga sangat mendambakan makanan khas kita ini.. trimakasih banyak 🙏👍

Thanks, @iamrifk. I keep bringing tourists here because they don't expect it LOL

hehehehe 😂😁

Wow amazing. We don't do a lot of salted fish in Hawaii. What is the main way the fish are caught? (Line or net)

The fisherman uses the net to catch the fish, but not all kind of fish are good to salting. Many of which are delicious to eat it freshly. ;)
