I’m happy you’ve stopped by!
I awoke to cloudy skies and had the intention of going Christmas shopping. My eye had improved dramatically overnight, and I was happy about that, but was being plagued with a headache. After sharing time over coffee with my husband, I decided to nix the shopping and go for the hike instead. I felt like I needed it and should really go instead of going shopping. The plan for that has now been moved to Monday.
We headed out and before I could even get off our property, I found some amazing photos of water droplets on the trees as it had been raining, and was in fact, misting as we left.
We found ourselves literally in a cloud for most of the hike. It’s kind of weird because the cloud is itself, mist, and so it kind of feels like it's raining, but in reality it’s just water laden air.
We headed up the mountain and you could hear the water dripping off of the trees and leafless underbrush. Then it began to rain a little more steadily and I decided I needed the umbrella. Yes, I know, hiking with an umbrella? Well, I don’t like hats and I really don’t like rain coats as they just trap in heat and make an already humid experience much more miserable! So, yes, an umbrella!
It had been a week since we were able to get up to the top due to darkness and weather. It was cool and very humid, but an amazing day up in the mountains, nonetheless! I am glad that I went!
We came home and I made us both coffees to go as we had then planned to go to the LCS to work on some Santa stuff for friends. So, off we went, and were able to find just what we were looking for. Then it was off to another store for some stocking stuffer type stuff to go with the other presents we had found.
All in all, a very good day!
