Wine or exercise? Actifit: September 30 2019

I am not proud of this, but I chose both. Here’s how it all played out.

If you read my blog at all, you probably know this about me: I work a lot. Like 9-12 hour days. Today was one of the 12 hour days. I took a break in the evening to go walking, get my steps for the day and some fresh air and pick up some dinner from a local eatery to take back to work.

It was beautiful out, with storm clouds in various formations all around. I will pause my story to share some of the pictures I took on my stroll.

Here was the bizarre thing. Those clouds starting producing lighting. And fat sloppy rain drops came splattering down.

I had only managed to travel about a quarter of a mile at this point. I wasn’t worried about a little rain, but wasn’t too excited about getting caught in a downpour. So I ended up making the decision to get in my car and drive to the restaurant. I was honestly chiding myself because it’s only about five big blocks, and I really felt like a wimp for opting to to drive out of fear of rain! Is just water, after all.

Well it turns out I made the right decision because the rain suddenly started coming down in buckets!

So anyway, I did not get my walk. And then I worked until 10 o’clock, and drove home. At that point all I wanted was a glass of wine and bed. But by gosh, I wanted to get my steps in! So I worked out in front of the TV, alternately drinking a glass of water to hydrate and sipping wine as a reward for a hard day of work!

I’m weird. I know. Thanks for visiting!

I wonder if we had a way to count the buckets...how many buckets would poor down on a rainy day like this?

Haha walk wine water, sounds like a good way to cap off an evening! Those clouds look pretty dangerous, glad you chose the car option, I'd have done the same!

Good going to get over 10k too, I rarely get above 3k these days unless I'm on holiday..
Need to change that...

All that sounds very sensible to me: walking through rain when there's lightening is stupid - not to mention dangerous. As for the wine, after a hard day's work: that's a no-brainer and well deserved.

You were wise to drive rather than get soaked by the rain.

Have to admire your dedication to get your steps in. 😊

It's good not to choose between two good things :)

You know, when in doubt, pick both...works most of the times :)

And the clouds are beautiful! I really should start to walk outside instead of camping in my room after class to get a sight of them. Somehow miss them.

I hope you enjoyed it! You deserve it!

At least hunger forces you to rest and find some food. Of course if the weather is rainy at least you took the forecast to go by car. And the wine glass was good for a relax after that intense day.

We are all weird... in one way or another))

I have a treadmill in front of the TV. I dont often use it, but it works well when I do!

Ha ha. For me it’s jogging in place in front of the tv!
