I went out in the garden this morning and there were a lot of snails very actively eating things and moving around. It is a good thing I have plenty of Swiss chard. I thought the snail looked interesting here. Its shell is not as colorful as some of the snails around here though.
The flowing bush is just starting to bloom. Usually these bushes are covered in flowers but this year they were trimmed.
The weather was looking pretty good so I went out for a long ride on my ebike. I rode forty miles with the first twenty on the lowest battery pedal assist setting. On the way back I used the battery a lot more and when I arrived home it was down pretty far.
I'm not sure if the range is too much farther than forty miles. I think if I want to ride for a longer range I might want to get another spare battery or something. I would hate to run the battery all the way down at the end of a long ride.
Here's a view of the river that saw while riding back today:
I did manage to get down towards the ocean but not as far as the nice tide pools. There is a more direct route but the traffic is heavy and it is not as pleasant to ride my bike there. So getting there might be out of my range.
This evening I also played disc golf with my son and scored one over par for a nine basket course. There was a bit of wind but nothing too significant.

I remember when we use to eat snails and damn they are always delicious. Just like meat
With a bit of butter and garlic they are very tasty. I'v tried them before in a fancy restaurant.
Love the red swiss chard! Did you thought making yourself a green smoothie with it? Or maybe add it to the omlette instead of spinach? Just saying. 🥬🥒🍵

It's very nice in an omelet or stir fry. I have not tried a green smoothie with it, sounds good.
I am just wondering if you could take a second battery with you? Do they have it where you can change out the battery like a camera for example?
The batteries are easily switched when they are unlocked from the bike. They weigh a lot though so it might not be worth carrying an extra battery. It would make it easier to plan long rides though.
Great shots of your outings today Love the snail shot especially, getting a spare battery may be a good idea with the long rides you do
out of curiousity which eBike do you have
I have the Radcity ebike made by Rad Power. The ship for free all over the country and Canada. (I'm not sure if shipping is free in Canada though)
Thanks I just took a look at the website and they have some cool bikes, I have bookmarked it to look further later in the day, I know I am almost a year, well 9 months actually away from when I would want one but good to start researching now
I am looking to limit my oxalates. So leafy greens are not high on the menu. Can't seem to give up coffee though. I currently have a bullet coffee in hand. I did give up tea. But I love the way beets and chard look when the grow. You gave me a great idea: a vegetable/snail garden. My son would love it:) Now we just gotta kidnap a snail or two ... lol:)
Idea for the bike ... use people power gettting there ... that's you ... and you battery to get back. That way you can conserve your energy for when you are tired on the way home. Otherwise, you have to carry the weight of an additional battery, which doesn't sound like fun.
Lovely photos, LS:)
I did give up coffee for a while but I'm back to drinking it again. Coffee and tea would be hard to give up on for me. Snails seem to find their way into your garden on there own. They are all over the place around here.
My garden is on the second floor. Maybe with some coffee, they might do it:):):)
Wow! Amazing Photography and nice shot. Thank you for sharing with us....
40 miles is still a pretty good amount of travel from your ebike. But if you can carry a spare battery, that would make it more viable for a longer trip. The snail reminds me of the ones that destroy my strawberries, taking 1 bite out of each one!
