I do not think it is a coincidence that I got to write about God on a Sunday. The existence, divinity and supremacy of a Supreme being that oversees the entirety of our universe has been unarguably a big debate for many centuries. But today is not for that debate.
I once wrote a piece that proclaimed and exalted myself as a God and I titled it apostasy. As I reflect on the matter today, my mind is being drawn once again to the title. I must have given it that title because I believed seeing myself as a God is a deviation from my belief. Was I wrong or right?
There is God in all of us, we are made to be God and we possess the power of gods. There are many qualities that we attribute to God and it is evident that man possesses these same attributes. It is said that God is eternal, a spirit, and so are we. Feeling of love, anger and jealousy are cited in several portions of the scripture and these are among the different emotions that we also feel daily.
God creating man in his image only makes us his creation, but God breathing into man puts a portion of him into us(Gen 2:7).We became creators too. According to the Bible, Jesus has pointed out that we are gods (a similitude of a smaller God). Little gods, small gods, however we deem fit, man is a God.
There are instances where we just say things and we notice they happen. There are other times that we might have premonitions about events that have not yet happened and they finally happen. Our instincts, certain feelings, the premonitions and weird tingles,however put, are evidence of powers that our minds carry. Evidence that our realities are more than physical.
This is not a counterpoint of the supremacy of God or in any way trying to make man equal to his creator. It is to put light in the crevices that man had hidden himself into, it explains that we are more than just a creator's creations, that we are not just the creator's image or similitude. We are the exact replica of the creator. We are Gods.
