they scare the crap out you when you first see them. we had two of them about 2 metres away from us at one stage today. normal? - not uncommon, they still gather a crowd though

Lol! Hubby had a seal come towards him when he was snorkeling once. He thought it was a shark and about crapped himself! So relieved when it popped up out the water in front of him.

hahaha. i was at boomers beach on my own sitting on my surfboard once and these whales showed up about 20m away. everyone on the beach was snapping pics whilst i'm crapping myself trying to remember what whales eat:)

I would be more frightened by suddenly having a shark two meters away ... but in fact, anything that suddenly appears frightens.
