My Actifit Report Card: January 21 2020

I finally joined a gym. Truth be told, my wife got me a gym membership. Left to my own devices, I might have needed to use a walker before I got around to signing up for a gym membership. I have an advanced degree in procrastination.

It was just too damn cold for much in the way of outdoor activity today so most of my exercise was of the indoor variety. I went to the rec center track for a half hour of walkies this morning and later went to the gym for about 45 minutes of exercise.

Baby steps, baby steps.

Mostly aerobic (primarily treadmill and elliptical with a bit of stationary bike and rowing machine) with just a little strength training. I’m easing into this.

My son, who’s way more into fitness than I am, is thrilled that I’ve joined a gym so worked up an exercise plan for me that might be just a little ambitious for this geezer.

This change was not a New Year’s resolution. But since I have a really bad track record with New Year’s resolutions, that might be a good thing.

Woo hoo! That’s awesome. You may procrastinate (I mean, we all do, right?), but one thing I know is that you do what you set your mind to! You got this.

Best of luck with making the Gym a habit @preparedwombat . I'm always happy to see even old geezers working at improving their health by exercising; especially weight resistance type training. Just two days a week of weight training for us oldsters is enough to achieve tremendous benefits.
