Oh my God, why is conceptualizing an idea so difficult? It should be noted that I am an illustrator and not a sculptor, this subject makes me leave my comfort zone completely, I do not feel comfortable working with sculptures, I feel that I need a lot to achieve an optimal result, but well, you do what you can (with what you have). What I had at hand was: Scraps of old clothes, thread, stones of my deceased bamboo along with its porrón and bits of things that went by there badly stopped like for example, a lid of a lost container, a small burned out light bulb and all the love and patience of the world to achieve create a reinterpretation of things. It is supposed that in order to create I have to make previous sketches to help me with the composition, but, I feel that in this case I never know what kind of sketches to make, I just start placing things on top of the others and, then, at some point looking like something with sense, at least for me lol, I base this with something I read in a thesis about the process of the artist, I think it was Klee who poked the idea that, we just have to build and let everything flow, sometimes our work may not be achieved with a particular theme or meaning, and, when it comes to converge we should both rejoice, in conclusion, we should not be mortified or forced to have the piece must have a theme, sometimes, feel it from the aesthetic too it is valid.

Oh por Dios, ¿Por qué conceptualizar una idea es tan difícil?. Cabe destacar que yo soy dibujante y no escultora, esta materia me hace salir totalmente de mi zona de confort, no me siento comoda trabajando con esculturas, siento que me falta muchísimo para lograr un resultado óptimo, pero bueno, se hace lo que se puede (con lo que se tiene). Lo que tenía a la mano era: Tela de ropa vieja, hilo, piedras de mi bambú fallecido junto con su porrón y retazos de cosas que andaban por allí mal paradas como por ejemplo, una tapa de un envase perdido, un bombillo pequeño quemado y todo el amor y la paciencia del mundo para lograr crear una reinterpretación de las cosas. Se supone que para poder crear tengo que hacer bocetos previos que me ayuden a la composición, pero, siento que en este caso nunca se que clase de bocetos hacer, solo comienzo a colocar cosas encima de las otras y, pues, en algún momento termina pareciendo algo con sentido, por lo menos para mi jajaja, fundamento esto con algo que leí en una tesis sobre el proceso del artista, creo que fue Klee quien asomó la idea de que, solo debemos construir y dejar que todo fluya, a veces nuestra obra puede que no se consiga con un tema o un significado en particular, y, cuando llega a confluir ambos debemos alegrarnos, en conclusión, no debemos mortificarnos u obligarnos a que la pieza deba tener un tema, a veces, sentirlo desde la estética también es válido.

🌿 My little runes/Mis pequeñas runas🌿

This is a sculpture designed to be sensory. They are three bags that resemble amulets, they are usually full of things for some specific magic, in this case I took it a bit more personal, there was a time where I loved esotericism and walked in a Wiccan wave hahaha, it was fun to try those things , although part of my era was skeptical, the amulet bags came first and the last thing I did during that journey of my life, it required too many things and a ritual that made me lazy to perform hahaha, that is why my experimentation died in that point. Returning to the sensory, it is a piece with which you can interact, because each of the bags contains an ingredient that gives a characteristic smell, there is one that smells like coffee, another rosemary and the last cilantro, I found it very interesting, the context where the bags are is the least since, for the presentation of tomorrow I really did not want to just show them on the table and that's it, that's why I wanted to distribute them in this way, giving the feeling of ( due to the symbols that each one contains) as the stones that the native peoples intervened with signs and symbols. "... One of the most intriguing items in the world has been the runes, which are often related to mysticism and esotericism, are given properties such as an amulet and are part of the pop culture of our days."

Esta es una escultura pensada para que fuese sensorial. Son tres bolsas que asejeman a amuletos, suelen estar llenos de cosas para alguna magia en específico, en este caso lo tomé un poco más personal, hubo un tiempo donde me fascinaba el esoterismo y andaba en una onda Wicca jajaja, era divertido intentar esas cosas, a pesar de que parte de mi era esceptica, las bolsas de amuleto fue lo primero y lo último que hice durante ese trayecto de mi vida, requería demasiadas cosas y un ritual que me daba flojera realizar jajaja, por eso hasta allí llego mi experimentación. Volviendo a lo sensorial, es una pieza con la que se puede interactuar, debido a que, cada una de las bolsas contiene un ingrediente que le da un olor característico, está una que huele a café, otra a romero y la última a cilantro, me pareció muy interesante, el contexto donde se encuentran las bolsas es lo de menos ya que, para la presentación de mañana realmente no quería solo mostrarlas así encima de la mesa y ya, por eso quise distribuirlas de esta manera, dando la sensación de (debido a los simbolos que contiene cada una) como las piedras que los pueblos originarios intervenían de signos y simbolos. "... Uno de los artículos que mas intriga ha causado en el mundo han sido las runas, las cuales a menudo son relacionadas con el misticismo y el esoterismo, se le confieren propiedades tal como un amuleto y son parte de la cultura pop de nuestros días."

🌿the convergence of the river Orinoco and Caroní/La convergencia del Río Orinoco y el Caroní🌿

From the place where I am a native are these two rivers that converge, there is a legend of the Indians who receive these two rivers as lovers who could not be together in life, because their clans had fights, so they decided to escape to be together and, the sea was so moved by them that it turned them into water so that the two would merge, in an unconditional love:
"Sometimes the Orinoco (man) becomes rebellious and haughty, but just a wink of Caroní (woman), it calms down, deep down they both respect each other, both are needed, in the deep look they notice that they love each other, When Orinoco is suffocated by the heat, Caroní blows the wind to cool it in. Likewise, when Caroní is very cold, then Orinoco clothes her in. That gesture of mutual help is love, it is peace and freedom."
I decided to take two pieces of cloth that resemble the tonalities of both rivers, the stones that lie in the depths resisting all the love that both represented in the two pieces of cardboard are allowed to exist.

Del sitio donde soy oriunda estan estos dos ríos que convergen entre sí, existe una leyenda de los indios que recibe estos dos ríos como amantes que no pudieron estar juntos en vida, debido a que sus clanes tenían riñas, así que decidieron escaparse para estar juntos y, el mar se conmovió tanto con ellos que los convirtió en agua para que se fundieran los dos, en un amor incondiconal:
"A veces el Orinoco(hombre) se vuelve rebelde y altanero, pero apenas un guiño de Caroní(mujer), este se calma. En el fondo ambos se respetan, ambos se necesitan. En la mirada profunda se notan que se aman, que se cuidan y protegen. Cuando Orinoco está sofocado por el calor, Caroní le sopla el viento para refrescarlo. De igual manera, cuando Caroní tiene mucho frío, entonces Orinoco la arropa de calor. Ese gesto de ayuda mutua es el amor, es la paz y la libertad."
Decidí tomar dos retazos de tela que me asemejaran las tonalidades de ambos ríos, las piedras que yacen en las profundidades resistiendo todo el amor que ambos representados en los dos retazos de cartón se permiten existir.

I'm not going to deny that this was even the weakest of all, I really did not have the slightest idea what to do, but, the meaning is quite great, so following the line of fantasy, magic and indigenous peoples , I resorted to a book called "First dreams, Latin American history" there is a story about creation from the perception of the Guaraní culture. At the beginning, everything was dark, in the same way the creatures that were part of the night existed, until one day Ñanderuvusú appeared, bringing the sun to his chest, then, he took a crossed stick similar to a star that would show the winds his direction and time the measure of their ages, with a scream he called Ñanderú-Andarú, the first man, who is the beginning and the end, "The last man will have your same face, your same age, your same mouth full of questions ", the woman was inside a container, whose wet clay left at the bottom, and, at nightfall, he would uncover that pot to merge with his other half.
I started from the use of a lid covered with black fabric representing the darkness, the patch that is like an olive green color conceives the earth, in the center with a light bulb that illuminates everything brings the arrival of Ñanderuvusú to a new space, still empty but, that will be filled little by little.

No voy a negar que esta fue incluso la mas floja de todas, ya de verdad no tenía ni la menor idea de qué hacer, pero, el significado es bastante genial, así que siguiendo la línea de la fantasía, la magia y los pueblos originarios, recurrí a un libro llamado "Primeros sueños, historia latinoamericana" allí hay una historia sobre la creación desde la percepción de la cultura guaraní. Al inicio, todo era oscuridad, de igual manera exitian las criaturas que formaban parte de la noche, hasta que un día Ñanderuvusú apareció, trayendo el sol en el pecho, luego, tomó un palo cruzado parecido a una estrella que mostraría a los vientos su dirección y al tiempo la medida de sus edades, con un grito llamó a Ñanderú-Andarú, el primer hombre, quien es el principio y el fin, "El último hombre tendrá tu mismo rostro, tu misma edad, tu misma boca llena de preguntas", la mujer estaba dentro de un recipiente, cuya arcilla mojada dejó en el fondo, y, al momento de caer la noche destaparía aquel cacharro para fundirse con su otra mitad.
Partí de la utilización de una tapa forrada con tela negra que representara la oscuridad, el retazo que es como de un color verde aceituna concibe la tierra, en el centro con un bombillo que ilumina todo brinda la llegada de Ñanderuvusú a un nuevo espacio, aún vacío pero, que será llenado poco a poco.
