A Walk through Peter Detmold Park
I was surprised again by the weather today, in a nice way, the forecast was for rain today but the sun came out and it was a nice day, had a busy day int he office and didn’t have time for a walk before work, but I went for a stroll before and after grabbing a quick lunch and managed to get over my personal goal on 7.5K steps, infact with some steps running around after getting off the train I got well over my goal, and now the weekend is here, Have a good one
And Starting with a camera photo that is somewhat related to the other shots I took today with my Phone and I will admit this is a bit of a stretch but I was running short of time as I finished this post of a few minutes ago :)
I liked how this lamp stood out against the red background when I took this shot

Todays shots while getting in some steps
For the before lunch walk or more of a roundabout way to the deli where I have lunch walk I walked through Peter Detmold Park beside the FDR highway and the East River.
Its a nice little park and only about 6 blocks from my current office building, here is the view as I entered one end of the park.

Walking along that pathway I past this street light and tree covered with vines and snapped a shot and this lamp is how I very loosely tie in the first shot I shared in this post :)

This is at the other end of the park looking back as you can see its not huge but still a good size.

Behind me in the last shot is a dog run, which I have twice gone to get shots of the dog and got told by the owners not to so I don't try it anymore, not sure what is so confidential about th dogs in this park, but I just skip taking shots to avoid any aggravation.
Also behind me was a raised walkway that passes over the FDR Highway and this next shot i am up on that walkway.

And this next shot is at the end of that walkway Looking along the FDR highway, whenever I see the traffic backed up like this it confirms why I am happy enough coming into the city on the train rather than driving in.

Ohh yeah from the train around Fairfield in CT each day I see the cars crawling along the highway and am more than happy to be sitting on the train
I am a country boy at heart and couldn't live in the city but it is cool to explore

I can understand what you are talking about, my son lives down by Seattle and he bought one of those steering wheel "clubs " for my car when I went down to visit!!🙃

Car jacking is very bad down by Seattle, so they came up with a very strong locking metal bar that adjusts to every steering wheel.
It's coated so it wont damage you steering wheel, but you can't steer the car.
so unless they wanted to strip your car, they will go to an easier one!
Ohh yes I know what you mean, I didn't have one here, but in our work vehicle sin some field missions I worked we all had theme a pity its so bad you need them there

Hehehe... that last shot... you took it from the middle of 1st Ave... then I suppose you had to run back to the safety of the sidewalk?! Each block in NY is the equivalent of three to five blocks in suburban neighborhoods. That’s a lot of walking for everyone! I like the shot taken from the walkway over the FDR highway! I want to learn taking photos like that. Be careful when you walk through that little park. The walkway is buckling up because the tree roots are pushing up the concrete slab underneath the brick tiles. People might trip!
Ohh yes I have seen people trip walking where roots are bending up the pavement, I am generally observant and notice it so haven't tripped to much LOL I was crossing 1st heading up top second and stopped midway for that shot, the blocks here dont seem that long to me I guess because i have been here so long, on some of my Walks I walk 60 to 100 Blocks On a good day :)
Except for the first photo all were taken with my cell phone and I only did the auto edit with them :)
What is auto edit? Do all phones have that feature?

Well I mean on the App on my iphone there is a magic wand thingy, which often does a good quick edit of photos I think Most camera apps have it

I've mentioned this to you before (I think - maybe just in my head!), but I'll say it again— I am most definitely jealous of the places/area you're able to walk and get your steps in every day! I'm in a fairly rural area, so it's just privately owned (and uninteresting) woods and farms within walking distance. 😄

You can see the autumn colours arriving, absolutely crazy people won't allow you to photograph their dogs, wonderful weird world we live in...
Train travel into city tops going by car every time, wish our rail system was what it used to be! Have an awesome weekend.
Its funny out where I live people don't seem to mind taking photos of their dogs but inthe city sme see it as a big deal I really do not understand it myself
I am lucky the rail system here is pretty good for the most part

LOL maybe that is it, but identity theft of a dog, I would perhaps understand if I was taking shots of the owners LOL

Yes, it is. I set up my phone today with a new SIM card to use in the UK. They recommended setting it up before you travel. Great idea! It's all initialized and working. All I have to to when 'Im on the plane is switch out my US SIM card for the European one and I'm all set to go!

Great photos! Really interesting architecture, and I like the lamps too.
I can't stand traffic either. I could find a "better" job, but the one I have right now let's me work from home, which has just so many advantages, one of which is not having to contend with traffic. I fully support your idea of taking the train. That would be my preferred course, too.

I find the train relaxing i can watch videos, I do work emails and catch up on Steemit so its useful time, Ohh and yes in the morning I also have a snooze LOL
But that said I am looking forward to when I finish working and do not need to catch the train

It has been chilly, but the weather has been fantastic. Now that that horrible rain is out of the way, we have had some absolutely amazing Fall days. I wish I was able to enjoy them more. With all of the home stuff going on, that has been hard.
Ohh yeah the home stuff must be keeping Yu busy and of course work also gets in the way LOL
