YES!! Sure reminds me of the Against Patriarchy Conference (which I think became Beyond Patriarchy) from years ago in Eugene, OR- with workshops ranging from permaculture to activism to sexism within activist groups... Makes me smile, thinking about it, and so glad to hear that this film fest exists. I would love to catch it sometime. I am happy you got to go- it sounds fabulous!!

Yess it is fabulous, I am so glad to be a part of it! I hope they may include workshops, I hope to have a Steemit booth next year haha. The films were amazing, if you ever have the chance, I suggest attending! Though, you can hear about a few from myself, and maybe even watch them online... There is one coming out for free soon I think that I really loved about a primevial forest in bc, with trees over 2000 years old, that is threatened by logging.

Am going to keep an eye out, sounds inspiring!

wow, now that was a very interesting read. Wish I could join the protest, but I am far away ma'am

Sadly, I am sure that no matter where you are there is a good and inspiring cause to work for, for the betterment of society and the environment!

Wow, this is really eye-opening, I will check this out. Especially it is disconcerting to hear about the crazy proposals involving nuclear power... One wonders whether the effort of going so crazy is really that cost efficient, as opposed to what you are suggesting in research in alternatives and etc...

Thats one of those things this film gets into, these unconventional energy sources like shale and shit is not efficient or cost effective, like at all, and it wont sustain us for long. I think its only a short matter of time before we have to invest heavily in alternatives, and we need to be sensicle about our power useges because even alternative energy sources have their drawbacks

I have learnt a good amount so far about conserving energy by living off grid, it really is not all that bad and I dont even know how to make the power work yet haha.

Oh it really saddens me and really pisses me off that some people just don't get it, how long do they thing we can continue to do this to our home. Really, to me it's common sense, love and respect the earth, it keeps us alive, it nurtures us we are a part of it. This dominant attitude, is crazy. Thank you @skycae, everyone needs to be talking about this, come on! and then everyone needs to stand u together do the right thing. resteemed x

Exactly! It astounds me that people are that short sighted, it seems incredibly obvious to me that taking care of the earth is very important, because we belong to the land and we are fucked without it. Yes, we need to talk about it, normalize it (as in make people who take action more mainstream instead of marganalized) and CHANGE IT asap!

I have never been to a travelling film festival but you make it sound like it needs to go on to the bucket list. The film sounds powerful too. Thanks for sharing with us. I wonder if they have them in Australia?

Ahhah I would not know, but I sure hope they do! It was an awesome experience, even better then the young agrarians winter mixer, which is a lot of awesome. Best event this year so far!

wow Sister! you are everywhere! I am loving your posts and activities! you rock!

Thanks! I do things, and I blog bout it, whahahaha. To earn a living as a volunteer is the dreamm

Oh wow!!! I had no idea this was taking place. I live in vernon which is only a 45 min drive from kelowna...i was actually born and raised there. thanks for sharing, this is a really great post. Very thorough and well put together. I really like the intros to each film, gives a very good idea of whats being shown. keep up the fantastic work!!!

Thank you! I hope to have a steemit meet up here in the Okanagan sometime soon. If you would like, we could chat on discord haha. I actually had a dream about a meet up here and I was amazed at how many people showed up.

Please do stay tuned, there is a very important cause here in BC that was on a film I will write about, about protecting the primeval temperate rainforest in the kootneys from logging which needs people to sign petitions and write letters from BC. 2000 year old trees, mountain cariboo and incredibly fresh glacier water needs protecting!

Awesome! A local Steemit meetup would be a fantastic idea, sure I'd like to chat i'm on Discord often. my discord username is silasdavid#1217

Free energy exists and once released the dependence on oil will disappear. Focus on creating the New World rather than the ills of the current one and humanity will move forward into the Golden Age of Peace for all.

I can agree with that! Lets get on it, asap.
