The Las Vegas police chief said Monday that more than 20 people were killed, while about 100 were injured in Sunday night's shooting at a music festival in Las Vegas, west of the Mandalay Bay Mall and Casino, After an armed man opened fire and shot at people.
The police announced that they had neutralized the shooter, noting that the gunman had been killed, excluding the presence of other gunmen.
Las Vegas police chief Joseph Lombardo also disclosed in a press statement that the suspect was a Las Vegas resident who had launched the attack on his own, but the authorities were looking for an Asian-looking woman who the police said was accompanied by the suspect.
He added that he did not believe the suspect in the attack was linked to any militant groups.
The spokesman for a hospital in Las Vegas, announced earlier and as a preliminary result killed at least two people, and wounding 24 shots, 14 of them in critical condition.
Earlier, before the operation, which was not yet decided whether to be terrorist or not, the Las Vegas police announced that they were investigating reports of gunfire in the area, asking everyone to avoid going there.
After the heavy fire, hundreds of people were evacuated from the compound amidst the panic of the people attending the ceremony.
Television channels have posted videos showing people running away from the concert.
