I am happy to report that effective with the Fall 2022 semester, Illinois State University students will have an opportunity to earn exemption from the Society of Actuaries (SOA) professional actuarial examinations by sufficiently good perforance in our classes, as follows:
• Exam FM: Mathematics 280,
• Exam FAM-L: Mathematics 380,
• Exam FAM-S: Mathematics 384,
• Exam FAM: Mathematics 380 and 384.
I will be the official Illinois State University Accreditation Actuary and you can send me any questions you might have. I will immediately answer the question I was already flooded with: No, sorry, there is no retroactive credit. This only starts in the Fall 2022 semester, and for a student to earn the credit, the class has to be supervised by the Society of Actuaries, through University Earned Credit process
