The other day i realized that i am a full blown addict...
So you are taking your 1st hit of cocaine ... experiencing your 1st high which is insane.
After the 1st time you need to use a little bit more to experience the same "high' you have experienced the 1st time, and so it goes on.
Every time you need a little more to experience what you felt the 1st time and before you know it you are an addict.
Let look at just a LITTLE bit of science...
So in the middle of the brain there is a thing called a Nucleus and it is surrounded by the reward circuit. Every time you use your drug it releases dopamine into the nucleus and that is what stimulates you....
So when excessive amounts of dopamine gets released into the nucleus it starts to build a wall to protect your brain, and every time you release those huge amount of dopamine the "wall" grows bigger and it is harder to get that same stimulant feeling...
And that my friends is how addiction begins...
Eventually the wall gets so big that its almost impossible to get that stimulation. What happens then?
You get bored with almost everything, you can suffer from anxiety, depression, aggression ect.
So this can happen to almost everything not just drugs. The only difference is the delivery of the addiction....
Brad Huddelston, a computer scientist did huge amounts of research on this and after watching him live i though to share some light to others. His latest book, DIGITAL COCAINE is about the addiction of technology, the biggest being, gaming (yes especially educational games) and porn. In the link posted below he speaks all science and explains how it works. He is working with the BMR at the University of South Africa while he travels around the world creating awareness of this.
At his seminar he showed a picture on how the Brain shows exactly the same stimulants when addicted to cocaine and addicted to technology (Social Media, Gaming, You tube).
