As a kid, I remember every spring, taking my grandmother to the airport, so she could go back to Greece. And every fall, another trip, to pick her up.
One of my most hilarious memories: All the cousins, uncles, and aunts, at the Airport to pick her up. We were all waiting....
She passes through the big doors from immigration. Everyone is excited, and happy... and we see her, wheeling her large suitcase. It is damp. And there, on the underside, are dozens and dozens of snails.
She actually smuggled snails back to the US!
These were the days well before TSA and 9/11.
... and customs probably didn't look all too closely at the little old lady in the pill box hat, coming back from vacation.
With her snails...
haha that is hilarious! xD I think I would have loved your Grandma, she sounds like my kind of person ;)
Everyone LOVED Yia Yia!
... or else!
xD
