A friend of mine was playing in the Binion's main event poker tournament. So I went down to check out the action and join him on his dinner break. Then off to enjoy the Fremont Street Experience, for the first time solo!
First Stop Binion's Gambling Hall and Poker Hall of Fame
I got there just in time for the last hand before dinner break. My friend was in the big blind. Called, saw a flop, bet turn, and a fold from his opponent and we are off to dinner. We ate at their standard cafe. Let's put it like this, when you eat at places like this, don't order the fish, I talked my friend Tanner out of that mistake! Thankfully every place serves easy to make dishes so I just look for the easiest option to make, that sounds appetizing. In this case it was a BBQ Pork Sandwich. Seriously how can you mess that up! Just slow cook pork, put it on a bun and give me some sauce. Which by the way is exactly how it came... Seriously you can't even mix in the BBQ sauce yourself?!? "I'm not your maid!", Tom Haverford! After dinner my friend had to get back to his tournament and I had to enjoy Fremont Street, but first some shots of Binion's poker room and poker hall of fame.
Fremont Street
First thing I see as I walk out of Binion's. There are many street performers on Fremont Street as well as the Strip. Today was an interesting day, at least half of the street performers were as legally close to naked as one can be. Which is basically nothing in Las Vegas. It's not unusual to see some of that but it was over half of the street performers today. Notice one in the middle left of the picture above?
Two more street performers, the ladies in pink and blue, and the free stages. The bands are fairly decent so this is a very popular area, very hard to take a picture without someone walking in front of you!
Time to Check Out Some of the Casinos
Next up, the Four Queens!
I was looking to play some Blackjack but all the tables were full so I sat down to play some video poker. Got lucky and hit 4 of kind A's good for $800!
Whats New and still the same? Fremont East District, Slotzilla, and the Shops, Plus the Same Old Heart Attack Grill
The Music and Light Shows.
Incredible saxophone player, and quite a crowd.
The Ceiling Light Show
Crush: The Best Cover Band I Have Ever Heard!
My phones audio did not pick up the instruments well, but it captured the singers incredible voice! The range of music these bands can play always impresses me. From Just What I Wanted by The Cars (1970-1980), then followed it up with Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl.
I forgot my external battery pack, sorry about that! I wasn't even going to watch this band preform. But as I was walking to see how my friend was doing, I heard this lady's voice and perfectly timed instruments, and had to stop. I'm glad I did!
Here's a much better video mixing various songs-
If you looking for the truly wild and nakedness of Fremont Street. Click on the video above. Then click on whatever looks interesting to the right of the video, enjoy!
The End of Fremont Street
The timing of today was just perfect, to catch that saxophone player, then just as I'm leaving get stopped by the band Crush. Plus getting lucky on a slot machine is always fun too! Also my friend made it to day 2, so he's still live for well over $50k! Which Vegas adventure do you want to see next?!? I live here so let me know in the comments below!
All pictures and video (except the last one) taken by me with a Droid 2.

We'll definitely have to go on some adventures next time im out. I'm planning on coming out to visit sometime in September. Maybe Redrock or the cliffs. I want to hit up that new park they built on the strip too. Great post my friend.
I cant wait! Thank You!
We should do both Redrock and the cliffs!
Nice article. I've never been to Vegas and it looks like there's lots of entertainment, night life, gambling etc... but i've always been curious about the nature areas - are there many parks and nature areas? If you have any pics of that side of things i'd like to see em.
I go hiking around Las Vegas and have several posts about them. This is my most recent https://steemit.com/hikingtrailguide/@allprowi/a-journey-from-scorching-hot-las-vegas-to-icy-mount-charleston-big-falls-hiking-trail-the-hiking-trail-guide-3
Cool, looks good - surprised to see snow there!
The nearest spot is the valley of fire, which is quite nice. If you want to drive around 3h you can visit Zion National Park with some impressive hikes.
Crush was one of the better cover bands I've seen!
nice pictures thanks for sharing
Your welcome!
