Tropical Beach Camping, Foraging & Spearfishing [3 Minute Video]

in #adventure7 years ago

On a paradise island with a speargun, a machete, and a drone.

I've done this beach camping trip four times now, and I always meant to make a video but just never got around to it. Part of the problem was that I never filmed enough. We spend almost the entire day working to get food out here, and the little free time we have we just want to explore and play. Plus the sand and the salt make bringing out the cameras and drone a nightmare. Being on Steemit has me feeling pretty inspired though, so I figured I'd give it a go. It's not my usual video style and it's my first time doing a voiceover like this. I hope you guys like it!

This looks amazing. I like your choice of music in this video. I believe getting enough food to feed the whole group must be challenging. However, it looks delicious. Great job!

Guys, is it fair to vote at your own comment?

I did not steal the money, I invested it with my salary and earned it with my posts. I am sorry it looks the way it does.

I'm just curious how things work I've been here for a couple days.

To me it is not about 40 cents I make but I would like to have more Steemians noticing me and my blog. I want to share my work with wider public and this is one way of doing so while I admire others work.
Good luck on Steemit! You are lucky you are in, few of my friends who signed up are still not registered although they signed up few weeks ago.

self upvoting will always have that discussion im okay with that, maybe another hardfork will strengthen the community and rewarding upvoting others a bit better.

Love the video mate!!! You can't go wrong with spearfishing. I have to post some of my go pro dives!

Nice! I follow you so I'll be looking for it. If you have a Mac you already have iMovie and it's really easy and intuitive. I've still never gotten footage shooting a fish. Somehow whenever I bring the GoPro the vis is shit.

Can you take those bugs year round in Florida?

This is so interesting, thanks for this good quality post

Amazing shots! What's your equipment and what program do you use to edit your videos? Check out my blog and follow if you like as well :-)

Thanks. It's GoPro Hero 4 Black, iPhone 7 Plus, Canon 100d, DJI Mavic Pro, and there are a few shots from my friend's iPhone 6. Edited in Final Cut Pro X.

What a beautiful place. Passionate

Thank you for sharing

Great post. I am a fan of brining the camera and drone to al our trips. Great way to show people great scenery. Check out some of my blogs about trips to the big island and some drone footage from Maui. Aloha and keep blogging

Sorry thought I replied earlier... Thanks a lot! Following you guys :)

Amazing Thailand does not go to the holidays, do not know. Thank you for sharing.

machete is a necessity

Way to go @dispatches! What a professional and amazing documentary of Thailand's beauty. I want to buy a drone and a proper underwater dslr casing. Both are expensive! I'm sure it will be a good investment though, perhaps when I earn more from steemit, hehe.

I'm gonna revisit this Thailand someday. You deserve all the upvotes!

Thanks :) This underwater footage is just from a GoPro but I want a proper housing too. The ones for my Lumix GH5 are over a grand but I have a Canon G7X and they make one for that for around $300. Going to pick one up in the States next month and step up my underwater game.

I'm going to scuba dive around here after rainy season and I definitely need a proper underwater camera.

But last year, when I was in South America, my laptop and action cam were stolen while I was sleeping on a night bus. Now I'm scared to buy expensive stuff as I kept losing them when I travel.

ohhh that sucks. I haven't been to South America in a long time. I just take it for granted now how safe most of SE Asia is.

Hey wanna be Facebook friends? https://www.facebook.com/benjamin.schaye

Sure, now you will know more ha! I tried to remain anonymous here, for now lol.

I'm not active on FB anymore, as I'm more into steemit now. ;)

Loved your video to share beautiful beach. Woow, that's very nice place to visit. How long you stayed there?

Thank you. We usually stay there 3-5 nights

I loved the video and this idyllic place I would only say that this environment will be in balance as the impact of the tourists will be very limited and controlled.

Great adventure.. Maybe one day.. I will go there too.. May god save this place from bad people..

Hey been there Four times and its really a paradise the food,People,Beaches,Underwater,Sunset,TUk Tuk,Beer bars Espcially the Night life and guess what Got a Indian Bar on walking Street Named Tony plays indian music and i loving it but you have shown me the other side of it and you know will there and also explore more thanks

Thanks for sharing. I always wished about going there. Do You mind sharing how much the trip costo?

We were living on the island at the time so we had a lot of the supplies. Renting the truck was $30 per day. Other than that it was just food and drinks. Usually came out to about $50 per person, but a lot of that was for rum LOL

I'm going to Thailand in September! :) so excited! Got any tips?
And I've got some travel videos if you'd like to check them out :)
Australia and South Africa :) let me know what you think :)

A beautiful place, still natural and very eye-catching. We are obliged to keep our natural beauty from damage because we are not the only ones who need animal life also need life like us. Let's just as we keep our nature from damage. image

Great Adventure

Nice place 😇

Good post friends ...
Oya, I've followed you and gave a vote, do not forget to follow me back

Definitely deserves an up vote, awesome editing and trip. Where can I get more info as in how long you stayed there and how you arrived? As a flight attendant I travel a lot but always to the big cities, and for these kind of places I have to find my own way! Looks great to get away from people for some time lol

Thanks! We usually rent a pickup truck and drive in. We stay 3-5 nights. We were all living on the island so it was easy to plan. I haven't done any other writeup yet, sorry

Nice post!! I followed you

Awesome video and experience in paradise. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you!!!

Truly idyllic thanks for sharing. One day I will too visit, maybe see you there :)

Wow, I want to go to Thailand right now. Incredible nice video and you have a real radio voice man. I'm sorry to hear about your dog. RIP

haha thanks, like pretty much everyone else I hate the sound of my own voice and just had to force myself to do this. He was my friend's dog. He joined us the first 3 times we beach camped, but he was pretty old

I like it! :)

Video so amazing ! Breathless !

How amazing! I would love to live this way!

Wow it's like a trailer of Survivor! Amazing.
I don't know if I would have the courage to do this myself. Living of the island...

Thanks. It's not too hard. Worst part about it is you're always sandy and it gets in the tents and hammocks no matter how hard you try to keep it out

This is great, good job!

You seem like a pro. I like your video :) Anyway, I would highly appreciate if you can take time to visit and probably leave some comments into my first post intro. Looking forward to meeting new friends :)
