Unless you find that winter activity that transcends from November to March, the Midwest is not for the thin blooded. Take the blizzards head on. Spin donuts in vacant parking lots. Buy a snow blower, face mask, smart wool socks. Build an igloo. Hibernate.
Winter can be productive time of year. Catch up on those ten hours of sleep, because hell, it's 13 below outside. Binge watch every episode on Netflix, even the shows that suck, because what else to do when 12inches of snow are pounding down from the heavens.
For those not up to speed or in the area, last night DUMPED on the Twin Cities and the southern part of the state. I'm sure Wisconsin felt the flakes too. Days like these there are not enough fingers on both hands to count the amount of vehicles stuck in ditches or in the middle of intersections. Moments like these, everyone in a panic about where to park. Emergency snow plow declared, $300 tow fees, better get your car on the correct side of the street. It's survival mode.
We had our fair share of fun, er', not so fun. What's the opposite of fun? Because that's what we were having trying to get @velveteendream car dug out and off the road.
Wheels spinning, she was stuck good smack in the alleyway. Until, (insert: idea light bulb emoji here) I remembered the carpet. We carpeted the snow under the wheels in order to move her car into the driveway. An hour plus later, success, time for Netflix.
Or, or... (re-insert idea light bulb emoji) Fuck yeah, Snowshoeing!! Fresh power. Take that Minnesnowta. Make lemonade. Urban snowshoe exploration in a blizzard over one foot of snow. Ya can't put a price tag on that. So I poured my self a flask of whiskey and set out on an adventure...
An adventure that resulted in pushing more cars off the road (insert smacking face emoji).
Until I found the park: empty, serene, tranquil, untouched.
I was only home in MSP for a few weeks last month but damnn I was ready to leave. Yugh. Stay warm!
Trying 🌨 thanks. Enjoy the not-winter. 😎
Nice. Luckily I'm down in the SW enjoying the mid 70's highs and lows in the 50s for months on end :p I do kinda miss MN winters for the fun driving around after a fresh snow.
4wheel drive kicks ass in a blizzard. I do admit, you’re probably sitting in better part of globe. 70 degrees sounds pretty nice right about now.
Damn, I look kind of skinny in the pic. Hahah. Thanks for being my hero as usual! <3<3<3 The snowfall was beautiful If it weren't such a pain in the ass. My back still hurts.
With beauty, much pain can be suffered.
