It has been too long since I have posted on Hive. Whats been happening. I need to come back more often.
This is my latest image in my Super Real collection on SuperRare. The Dark Crystal.
The lake had frozen into a flawless mirror of ice, undisturbed by wind or snowfall. It is exceptionally rare to capture these conditions, which only last briefly before hoar frost starts to grow on the surface, removing the lustre.
As the ice thickens, tension builds up, pushing the ice into the edges of the lake and creating exquisite, crystal-like fractures. The formation of these fractures makes deep, otherworldly sounds. I used a high-intensity LED light to illuminate the foreground fractures crisscrossing the icy canvas. The fractures behave like optical fibres, guiding the light along their pathways. Any light that deviates from the main fissure continues its journey laterally through the ice, remaining unseen to any observer from above unless it chances upon another fracture and is redirected upwards.
As the light danced along these fractures, the scene took on an ethereal quality, reminiscent of the mysterious allure of 'The Dark Crystal,' a film from my youth. It was as if this earthly spectacle was touched by the magic of another realm.
Magic indeed. I love real live photos. Let others live in an AI world. This world (or at least photographers like you haha) creates enough magic for me.
Yes as AI becomes more prevalent; real photography will become more valuable.
Indeed. I won't vote AI, shun it really. I'm old-school.
Hey mate, so good to see you, and your photography. I know I've said this before about other inages, but this is stunning!
I would like to hear the sounds these fractures make, I can imagine it, but to hear it in person, out there with all if that (nothing) around must be amazing.
Great snap, good to have you back.
Thanks mate. Hope you have been well.
Yeah man, just cracking along dealing with the big rocks as they present themselves. I can't complain.
still mad about lego?
Lol, mad in general. I still build Lego Technic though, yeah.
mad is the best way to be ; one of my fav quotes
“In a mad world, only the mad are sane.”
― Akira Kurosawa
Ah yeah I've seen that quote...And yes, mad is an acceptable state of being.
Hope you've been preoccupied by some amazing things :)
The colours in that photo are amazing :O
