I found the one I was telling you that I saw in Athens, it was the 31st of May in 2003, now I recall (and double checked on the link I'm sending you https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_eclipse_of_May_31,_2003) that it was only partially visible in Europe (hence in Greece) that's why I don't remember that total black you're describing!
