SEA MONKEYS

in #adventure7 years ago

So yesterday was a treat. My boyfriend and I decided to start the day off with a scuba trip; afterwards we planted ourselves at a little cafe next to the ocean in Kalk Bay and then drove through to Stellenbosch for some pizza and cocktails (I had one too many cocktails-I'm writing this post with a slight hangover)(we never learn do we?).

Anywhos, the dive was at Long Beach. I was incredibly nervous, as Cape Town's water is known to be quite...how do I put it? Let's just say I was imagining freezing temperatures, choppy waters and dark skies. However, when we pulled up next to the beach, the ocean was a gorgeous crystal clear light blue. The sands were white. The sun was out.

It was perfect! We got into the ocean (no choppy waves, absolute calm) and started our dive. We spotted these tiny species of shark, which was adorable. Some jellyfish. Lots of fishies. Good visibility. I was happy.

I would love to make scuba diving a big part of my life and go each month. The ocean really is a whole new beautiful world to explore. Ive logged my 8th dive and can't wait to do many more with my adventure buddy by my side!
