10 Great Tips For Packing
Tip 1: Roll, don't fold.
I cannot stress enough. Roll your clothing up when packing. This saves lots of space and makes everything easier to take out.
Tip 2: Do not take what is unnecessary.
Depending on if you are very wealthy or not, taking a lot of stuff with you on a trip can become very expensive very fast. So if you don't see yourself using it on a regular basis, LEAVE IT! So maybe leave the stilettos at home. You'll thank me latter. Generally a good saying is, "take half of what you pack", and this holds true, keep this in mind.
Tip 3: Pack by outfit.
Shuffling through your bag every day trying to find clean cloths or something that looks nice gets really annoying after about the third day so make sure to pack outfits that are ready to go when you get up in the morning.
Tip 4: Put everything small or containing liquid, in plastic bags.
This is often an overlooked aspect of packing but putting things into plastic bags will help you keep track of everything make sure you stays organized. You can even use them for putting wet clothing into if needed.
Tip 5: Put dryer sheets in your luggage to keep it fresh.
After a week of moving about and possibly not washing your clothing, this is a very good way to stop some of the bad smells associated with living on the move.
Tip 6: Use compression sacs.
If you are traveling light but need to take stuff like portable chargers, laptops, heavy coats/ sweatshirts (if you need them), various chargers and cables. Stuff like that that isn't too big but can take up a lot of weight in your checked luggage. Trust me, this will save you time and time again if you're either on a budget or backpacking so you need to travel light. Just make sure to check the allowed items that you can carry on before taking something.
Tip 7: Take stuff on the plane with you.

Tip 8: Put sunscreen, lotion, soap, etc..., into plastic travel bottles.
Some places don't offer the best soaps and self care products plus if you're going somewhere touristy you may be surprised to find simple lotions and soaps cost way more than back at home.
Tip 9: Put your socks inside your extra pair of shoes if you're bringing a pair.
This is a quick and easy way to use all available space and keep your shoes in shape.
Tip 10: Test out your suitcase/ backpack after your done packing to see if it is too heavy.
This tip will save your back, time and money when you leave. Always make sure to do this. The last thing you want is to be stuck in a foreign country with too much stuff!
