Step 1: tags. Don't tag everything you post steemit. If you want to post a joke, put funny or joke for a tag, if you want to post a story, tag it story.
Step 2: Make it interesting. People want to read funny jokes, and cool stories, so ask your friends for opinions, is this joke funny, is this story good.
Step 3: Make it original. Sure, you can copy and paste jokes from the front page of reddit, but that won't get you any upvotes.
Step 4: experiment with ideas. Some people want to ready about one thing while other people may want to read about something else. See what people want to read about.
Should every post on here be a "good" post? Some posts might not collect many votes or comments, but they result in a good conversation between the people who do take an interest.
Is the platform set up to account for that? Or are we going to end up with a "may the best BuzzFeed writer win" sort of community?
