IMPOSSIBILITY, DOES IT EXIST?

in #advice7 years ago

There is no such thing as impossibility, says a great and renowned multinational speaker. A penny for your thought. Do you agree? Are there not things that cannot be done?
The question is one that understandably often sparks off tense debate in different places. People taking sides, while being armed by their different logical and, or illogical reasons. Here, my entire intention is to construct a harmonious balance in this beautiful bout, my opinion entirely though but I hope it brings some benefits to your doorstep.
Let me start this way. For a word to be included in the lexicon of any language, it suggests that its meaning had been conceived, hence, every word has a definition. Also permit me to assert that anything that has been conceived, just like a fetus exists. The word impossibility is part of the English dictionary. Its meaning is something not possible, in order words, something that cannot be done. The few other languages I can comprehend also have word(s), or expression(s), for impossibility. In my dialect, it is ‘emekota-emekota’, synonyms exist though. From this brief analogy, what do you think I am going to say? Take sides? With which side? I am not doing that, no not at all. Just come with me.
Once upon a time in a little countryside, a youngster who is also an indigin of this village paid his parents a visit from another village where he has been staying almost all his life with a relative. Being a workaholic and further spiced up by the excitement of seeing his parents and siblings after quit a long while, he was all over the place doing everything there is to be done. On the second day, his mother put up a request, ‘please, can you help me cut down that palm fruit?’, ‘yea, which?’, he replied. His mum pointed at a palm tree that is tens of meters above ground level, the boy was frightened on seeing and observing the height of the oil tree but did hid it from anyone’s notice. ‘Do you have a lather that can reach this fruit?’. No, his mother replied. ‘Must you need one?’ laughing he said; ‘of course yes, can anyone get down that fruit without the use of such instrument?’. Boys here do so, you hardly see any of them use lather or a string, said his sister. ‘Look’, he interrupted, ‘I climb trees even taller than this one but a tree provides you with branches so you can access its top. But this one, it’s not so kind, so you are left with only one option and that is to make such provisions yourself. It is practically impossible to go atop that tree with bare hands as you claim boys here do. Ok, even if one can be so magical and ascends it, now tell me sis. How is he going to stay up there to cut off the palm fruit? Tell me!’. Laughing, ‘check again, you must have seen people do so in your dreams. That is suicidal and no one will attempt it, if anyone does, his grave must have been ready’. Ignoring him, his mother sent for a boy who right there before this youngster not just with bare hands but also having a machete to take up there, climbed the palm tree, and in a matter of a few minutes was aground again unhurt having accomplished the same task which to the other boy was ‘practically a no-no’. What does this short tale tell? Does impossibility exist? At this point I am sure that my position on the whole thing is becoming clearer. The existence of impossibility is only subjective. It is entirely man-dependent. You are what you think you are they say, in the same vain, in this sense, things are what you think they are. What cannot be done by a person can be done by another or by a group.
There is a truth we must come to agree with, any thought that calls on our imagination, be it positive or negative is achievable. The problem with us is that looking at our present ability, we erroneously conclude and make it a believe that we cannot accomplish it, must often we do not stop at that, we make the error more grave by believing it cannot be done. What leads us to such mistake is the fact that we fail to remember that our ability can improve if we position it to. More so, we neglect or perhaps lack the knowledge that for a thing to be created, no rule says it must be the making of a single mind. Indubitably, many good minds, make a project not just possible but easier to deal with. In a nutshell, when we doubt the likelihood of anything we think of or here of, we doubt the fact that we can get better than we currently are. We doubt the truth that we can become more skillful and knowledgeable than our present situation portrays. We also reject the truth that there are people out there who are better than us in one area or the other whom we can align with to make our impossibilities possible. It is true, a blend is most beautiful. Take it do not leave it, we are the gods of both possibility and impossibility. We bring to existence anyone we wish and banish into extinction the counterpart.
It has never entered the imagination of man neither has any eye seen what God has prepared for his saints so says the holy bible. This information makes it clear to us non-atheists, (apologies if you are one), that God cannot allow whatever he does not want to bring into existence come near our imaginations. But that very thing which he desires to call into being, he sends to us through our imaginative faculties, remember, He is done with the fundamental creation as well as the fundamentals of creation and permit me to say; He has denied himself the right to create anything big or small directly like He did in the bible days, so should he desire that a mobile house, come into existence, he can only achieve the desire by flashing it as an idea in the mind of any mind. Little wonder He also said in the holy book, ’ye are gods’. Fortunately, in the mind in which he deposits the thought, He had dropped the enablement to bring the idea to live. But He seldom goes beyond the deposition of thought impulse. It is from then entirely the call of the person in whose mind the imagination has been kept to fan the cold coal into a flame, and subsequently make it a conflagration. Sadly, many a man do not see the strength that had awaiting the arrival of the thought, thus most of the ideas end up as mere day-dreams. One may ask, since the possibility of evil is as strong as the possibility of good, does God, give the ability to achieve both, being a good being in whom there is no evil? To clear such confusion, simply note that the ability had been kept there ever before the coming of the idea. It is at the discretion of the individual how he applies the strength. For the ideas, the good ones come from God. The opposite one emanate from His opposite.
To conclude, I shall make an appeal based on our discuss as contained in the paragraph immediately preceding the one you are reading now, and it shall be very brief. When an idea occur to you, be sure that its possibility is very possible then ask yourself, ‘if I pursue it bring it to live, will it benefit me, will it do others and my environment any good?’. If yes, then go right ahead; explore every available means to achieve it. If no, dear, halt it right there, go no further. I believe you would not want posterity to remember you for the wrong thing, would you? Also it is quit disgraceful to watch someone do what you have declared impossible, so never doubt the possibility of a thing whatever it is. At worst say; ‘it may be impossible here and now but not everywhere and forever because that which we cannot do here, we can do there and that which we cannot do now, we can do later.’ WARNING: This is not to encourage procrastination. You can do anything, the ability is already there. Go be the best not the worst. Love you.
