Hello all,
I've been on Steemit as much as I can in the last few days, I literally could not sleep last night thinking about it!
It's been very noticeable at how popular certain subjects like steemit itself, and of course cryptocurrency, but travel seems to be HUGE too.
Does anyone have any perspective on if there are certain topics and audiences that are riding the highest waves? Are there different interest peaks in different demographics?
I feel like I'm here to engage, learn and generate collaboration and I've been searching tags for topics of my own interest in order to find the types of blogs I'd like to follow and find the circles where I fit in, but does anyone else have advice or links to other posts that are helpful in framing the climate of Steemit and how to find the spaces you want to contribute to?
I am trying the platform on multiple browsers and all day and night yesterday I was noticing Steemit was lagging much more than the other sites I was using at any given time- does anyone recommend a browser or have any insight as to why traffic might be congested on here? Was yesterday heavy because of this spike I've been reading about?
Thanks, this is just my 2nd post after my introduction!
Hello and welcome. Yes here's a few pages that I put together, plus a page from Steemit too:

Much appreciated thanks, this is quite the learning curve! No wonder so many people do well with how tos and tutorials...
You're welcome. Yes there is quite a learning curve :) I got a little discouraged by it at first, and slowly as I got some answers I thought about putting together a guide for other newbies. I've just almost got the basics but there's really even so much more to it, especially the "cryptocurrency" and tech parts.
@doule I just had a glance at your page, looks like we have a lot of the same interests, followed! Would love to hear about your impression of the Christian community on here - my father has been writing a series of theology books and I have been thinking that this might be an interesting outlet for him to share some of his work.
Hey I'm glad to hear that :) I've followed you too. On the Christianity community here, it can mostly be found at #christianity and #christian-trail. It's constantly changing, so my impressions are a bit too. All of a sudden in the last week we've seemed to have seen a huge influx in new people, like a dozen or more of serious people posting on Christian topics. Then there was something last week, I'm not sure if you've seen mention of it already, but it was called "hard fork 19." Steemit changed the payout system to give newbies a more valuable vote. Well, it's shook things up quite a bit. I do think this would be a good place for your father to share his work. I'm sure it would be warmly welcomed.
