I purchased my phone from the Swap Shop flea market in Fort Lauderdale last year November and the camera was never at 100. I should have taken it back from day one but it was the last one the guy had gaven me a really good deal. I have been burned in the pass buying used cell phones and was hype to finally be treating myself with a brand new phone, as I was told it was. I fully examed before purchasing and was pleased.
The camera worked fine, until lunch time when I really started taking pictures with my awesome new phone. The camera would not focus unless I hold it at an angle and the videos oh my, during playback the sound was dissorted because there is something shaking on the inside and it just messed up everything. I was sadded but just happy to have a new phone. And headed back to Nassau the following day with hopes of it being a small issue I could fix myself, perhaps a software update.
I did my research after the fact. It's a known hardware issue.
November would make a year I had the phone and the carmera was still unstable. Somedays the focus works, other days, if I don't hold it at an angle would never focus.
Yesterday, I got the Camera Fail error, which I've seen far too many times and did the normal recommend steps I found online to get the faulty camera back up and running, nothing worked!
Just my luck :(
Moral of the story, do your damn research FIRST, don't get caught up in the 'hype'! But duh, you already knew this.
Do you have any bad buys? What was it?
