West Coast Eagles break some old records

in #afl7 years ago

WCE have had 7 home games with 50,000 plus attendance, an AFL record, despite last weeks Thursday evening game which made getting to the game a little difficult. With all of our remaining home games to be on Sunday afternoon I'd expect these number to continue for the rest of the year.

We also hit the 80,000 members mark for the first time in club history. Driven by the somewhat unexpected success the club has see this year. Although as expected the new stadium is already too small, and members joining today can probably expect to wait about 10 years before they earn an actual seat. This being my 10th year as a member, it was only the new stadium that meant I got a couple seats, even then they are literally in the back row of the top level.

In other news Simpson is expected to keep Kennedy and Darling out of the side for this weeks match against the Crows. WCE definitely looking for a win to steady the ship after 2 losses in a row.
