Africa after the majority of other continents has joined in the international space race. The device GhanaSat-1 created by the team of engineers from the University of all nations located in the city of Koforidua of the state of Ghana became the first African satellite put to Earth orbit. The project has taken away from scientists about two years, and its cost was 50 000 dollars.

Первым африканским спутником, выведенным на околоземную орбиту, стал аппарат GhanaSat-1, созданный командой инженеров из Университета всех наций, расположенного в городе Кофоридуа государства Гана. Проект отнял у учёных около двух лет, а его стоимость составила 50 000 долларов. Ещё в июне спутник был доставлен в Международный космический центр NASA, а на орбиту в июле его вывела ракета компании SpaceX.
