My first encounter with raw black soap was in my childhood.
I think i was about 5 or 6 years old. I remember my grandmother came to visit for 'omugwo' as my mum just put to bed.( Omugwo is the after birth care carried out Mothers and babies).
I saw my grandmum using this black substance a lot. I asked her what it was and she said it was soap.
My expression must have conveyed my disgust because my everly patient and loving grandma showed me how its used . That day I learnt something new that stuck with me for a lifetime.
Black soap is made from locally harvested African plants such as plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves and shea tree bark. The ingredients are sun-dried and roasted, which is how it gets its deep color. Water and oils such as coconut, palm and shea butter are then added.
It is one of nature's best solutions to a lot of skin problems like acne, rashes, pimples and spots.
My greatest love for black soap is that its so easy. You can literally take raw black soap and make it to suit your skin needs by adding oils that your skin needs.

You can add coconut oil,jojoba oil,castor oil,rosewater,rosehips oil,vitamin c etc , infact anything.

It heals wounds fast which shows that it also repairs skin tissues.

I will show you how i make mine in my next posts.
