Agoratainment

If the agora were an ocean I could be the person standing on the beach where the sand is wet with occasional waves and foam reaching my ankles. Behind me is the safety of the boardwalk and surrounding city. The only thing required of me is my continued obedience. The ocean calls to me but right now I can barely tread water. I know if I just relax I can float. Once I let go of my fear of drowning I'll swim to the horizon.

It's been ten years since I last swam in the ocean. I wanted to come up with a metaphor for my agorist journey and the ocean is what stood out as most prominent. My toes have been wet for years because I have bought from sellers on Agorist Marketplace with Stateless Sweets being the one I used the most. I can't swim yet because I feel like I have nothing to offer. I am trying to learn soap making because other than working with lye it doesn't seem to be complicated. My slogan for FMK-mart is "From Sneakers to Soap, Save & Subvert." With over ten years of experience in athletic footwear it would be my gray market offering into the agora. For a few months I did some research on retail arbitrage and that's something I can pull off even if it's just trading gift cards for crypto or metal.

Swimming may get me a good distance from the shore though building a ship and learning to sail can take me and others to far off lands. I doubt I'll be remembered for a portmanteau I've created but Agoratainment is what I've dubbed Hives N Halberds. The endeavors of leisure tend to be scoffed at by some in various liberty circles. To them it's all bread and circuses. Well, sometimes I just want to have a few beers and enjoy a ballgame or laugh at a goofball comedy. Entertainment has a place in the agora and that includes pornography. Hives N Halberds will be the flagship of my fleet as I embark on my agorist voyage.

I know that's not the ocean, it's Rockland Lake. If I'm going to find out if my vessel is seaworthy better make sure it floats in a smaller body of water first.
