There have actually been at least 1 case where someone was cured from HIV.

Someone with HIV also got leukemia and got treated for this by means of a bone marrow transplant. After this transplantation there was no detectable HIV in their blood.

It would have something to do with a rare genetic mutation in the bone marrow of the donor.
