Hello steemians, this topic has given me an avenue to ask some confusing question that has been locked in my heart for a long time.

According to wikipedia: Albinism is a congenital disorder characterized by the skin, hair, and eyes. It's characterized with the lack of melanin.
I will say more than just analyzing what an albino is or what they should be, but i will be asking more of a question.
My first question: I have attended and seen a lot of wedding invitations, but i have never seen that of an albino.

Don't they get married, if they do, is it that they don't invite anyone or is it that because of their unique color they feel that people will laugh at them?

Actually am still waiting to attend an albino wedding, no disrespect.

secondly, i have never seen a obituary of an albino.

Is it that they don't die?

An African myth recognises albinos as a supreme being (ORISA)
I am still looking for something to justify my claim of never seen an albino obituary, perhaps the myth of them being a supreme being can justify why albino dissapears and don't die like normal human being.

Albinos according to yorubas are gods, it's a taboo to use them as a sacrifice to any gods because they are gods themselves.
I read a lot of articles about the myth surrounding albinos, you can see them here click me

My questions are directed to the doctors in the clinic. I will prefer if the questions are answered under the comment section of this post @nairadaddy and @thelovejunkie, Sir/Ma "Have you ever seen an albinos obituary"?

Those two questions i asked above points to the fact the great injustice done to albinos in this part of the world, their family sees them as an outcast and never cater for them, even to get married is seen as taboo.
They get neglected even after they are dead that is why you and i will never see an albinos obituary

That's really true. i'll have to do a research and confirm that assertion. Maybe wedon't notice the burials because they are few.

thank you

Albino's we have lot of them in my community PNG, South Pacific. But funny enough I haven't witnessed an albino funeral myself, but for sure they live, breath and die like any person. In my culture they are considered like any other person. We joke, we laugh, we cry, we live together. I have a small albino nephew, his quite the talkative one. Asks me lots of questions when I am busy doing something. I like my nephew just as I like any other person. Skin color is no condition for me to like or dislike, or hold a special affiliation towards. All is one, one is all. :)

Yea i also agree with you on that, no one deserve to be stigmated because of their color.

I've also not seen the orbituary of an albino...nice concept

I thought i was the only one.

Nice post...what a good question(Albinos according to yorubas are gods, it's a taboo to use them as a sacrifice to any gods because they are gods themselves.) That remind me a hollyhood movie a watch, a herbalist ask one of is customer to search for a white in complexion human for sacrifice, they were unable to get one unfortunately they met an albino on there way back and concluded to use the albino. On getting back to the herbalist he told them they cant use an idol to make sacrifice that they should return the albino to the exact place they bring him from.

A question i will like to ask about albino his that,is it true that they dont eat salt?

That is also a myth about albinos, you can read one of the link i supplied in my post to get the full gist.. Thanks

I think you nailed it with in this part of the world.
I'm in Australia, shamefully my country had an official White Australia policy, until too recently. The European mindset and unspoken prejudice still exists, unspoken.
People claim multiculturalism and talk about assimilation in the same sentence. An albino person doesn't face the same hurdles here, I don't think. I would imagine they feel they gain attention and questions frequently, but not blatant danger and disrespect. I have seen people married to people who don't have it and with children who also carry the gene too and careers and social lives.
I'm ashamed to say, I think people who are not Caucasian face more prejudice here.
Thanks for your post.

I appreciate you for sharing the experience of albinism in australia, it will enhance reader knowledge of the topic in difference geographical location. Thanks for sharing.

I dont know that abinos are gods it is a taboo to use them as sacrifice through traditional means ,thank you

Its part if the yoruba culture, some other african country have diverse believe about albino.
