BREAST SELF EXAMINATION is a topic that places its' beam light on breast cancer awareness.
Ladies offer more attention to their faces the most, I understand this ladies I know it is great to give the face the attention it requires but there is a part of your female body you should not ignore for almost a month and that is your 'breast'.
I bet you, many ladies can't remember when last they went to the hospital for a breast screening or even carried out the usual breast self examination once or twice a month.
This post is to encourage all ladies out here on steemit to make breast self examination a healthy habit, it should be on your to do list each month.
You may ask what exactly is Breast self examination?
Breast self examination is a routine examination that requires you to check both breast for any abnormal changes ranging from changes in the size of both breast, shape of both breast, presence of discharge from the nipples, presence of lumps and many other symptoms you must have heard about.

Usefulness of breast cancer screening test
There are free breast cancer screening test to carry out in hospitals, this would help the Doctor examine and know if there is any abnormality or a growing tumor, please do not be lazy or uncomfortable to visit the hospital in this regard.
A lot of persons have lost their lives to cancer, my aunt was a victim of breast cancer and she died leaving her two kids. I bet you the Doctor's did all the could to save her life but unfortunately my aunt didn't make it.
"Let us all be cautious of our health for been healthy is a great wealth."
Symptoms of breast cancer
Breast cancer has disturbing symptoms.
- First symptom that makes one alert is on seeing or feeling a lump in any of the breast.
- You would notice a discharge other than breast milk.
- An itching breast with persistent pain around the breast and even the armpit region.
- You would notice a change in the size of both breast one may seem larger than the other, retraction of the nipple( the nipple tend to change shape and even position).

It is very important to watch your lifestyle.
- Maintain a habit of washing your brassiers and sunning properly.
- Please do not buy any brassiere that has a gel substance in it's bra padding it has been found that this gel cause breast cancer, check your bras now if it contains a gel packed in it remove it right now.
- Sedentary lifestyle's should be ruled out, carry out exercise often.
- Eat more of fruits and vegetables
- Avoid alcohol and cigarette smoking
- Most contraceptive pills increases the risk of breast cancer,etc.
Let's join hands in combating against breast cancer, if you notice any of the symptoms associated with breast cancer please I urge you to visit a Physician. A surgical oncologist actually is the health practitioner that is properly trained to handle breast cancers.
