One of my favorite aircraft from WWII era.
Here it is with folding wings and a 250 cc radial engine.
when it flys by it sounds close to the real thing.
250cc is a huge bigger than life engine for a model airplane, and you can see it makes this
model aircraft fly by at high high speeds.
I have enough modeling skill to make one this big too - with folding wings though that might be a challenge for me. Still i love huge aircraft -this is the magic size for me - just big enough, but not super huge right!!
if you like model aircraft - this one will turn your head.
the corsair is one of the most iconic warbirds of the WWII time period, and here it is captured in model form perfectly.
enjoy
this one is 400cc and even bigger!!
That is really cool. I don't fly model aircraft but it's a neat hobby.
there is a place not in los angeles that you can fly em - sometimes i check it out - some awesome looking models out there - corsairs are my favorites - then it's the lightings p38s too
Wow a model P-38 would be awesome to see fly!
i so want one !!
anyone fly model aircraft ?
the closest model aircraft landing strip is in palmdale I think.
My friend Steve Neill used to fly model jets. He had a 104 and a T-38 I think?
They have real turbines, fly at 150mph, and you need a license to fly them.
The prop planes aren't deadly, so you don't.
The F-4u Corsair was a torpedo bomber, based on the Nazi Stuka, which was a dive bomber.
there is a field right by van nuyes and supelveda in sherman oaks.
That was my favorite airplane from WWII as well. I can't tell you how many models of that plane I built and then hung from the ceiling of my bedroom. The TV show Baa Baa Black Sheep didn't hurt my adoration for it either!
