About 5 months back when Byteball exclusively airdropped a handsome amount of its coins to Steemians, almost everyone of us raced for it. I hope most of the old active Steemians have a Byteball wallet now.
This weekend Byteball announced a new and interesting airdrop that favour HODLers. More about it later.
Let me give details of 3 Byteball airdrops that you can easily avail today:
1. Get $40 Worth Extra Byteballs In Addition To The Byteball Airdrop
Before going any further, if any of you feel left out of that exclusive Byteball airdrop to Steemians 5 months back, the good news is it hasn't yet ended and you can still claim it if your Steem account was created before 12th July, 2018. You can find more details in my post here. In this post I had declared to offer $40 worth extra Byteballs in addition to the Byteball airdrop. This offer is still on for whoever uses my referral link to install Byteball wallet and it earns me a referral bonus.
2. Real Name Attestation Airdrop
Whether you were qualified for the above-said airdrop or not, you can still get another airdrop worth $12. This is for your real name attestation and you will need to share your personal details, selfie and a picture of your identity document. This will link your Byteball wallet address to your real identity which can be saved in the wallet.
For every successful real name attestation, there is a reward of $20 from Byteball. Of these $8 is credited as liquid and remaining $12 is locked in the smart contract for a year.
Byteball provides this verification service with the help of Jumio (the same company that provides verification service to Bittrex too, in case you have an account there). Jumio charges a non-refundable fee of $8 for providing its services. So $8 needs to be paid upfront in Byteball units to Jumio. Please note that this $8 is non-refundable irrespective of your verification succeeds or fails. Byteball only airdrops $20 reward when one is successfully attested.
One needs to be very mindful of it. Last month I tried verifying myself with Jumio and my verification failed without assigning any reasons. I lost a little over 150 MB from my wallet.
After speaking to both the companies, today I tried to verify my identity again and this time it was successfully attested. I paid a little over 166 MB this time. The rate fluctuates according to the market. Therefore, you need to pay immediately and complete the verification process within half an hour, else your payment will get lapsed.

This smart voucher will pay the fee required for your verification. But please note that this smart voucher will only work once. So be careful, have your ID ready (it must have latin letters. Passport or Driving License works best). Once your attestation is successful, Byteball will pay $8 back to this smart voucher which I'll use to verify other users. $12 will be locked in the smart contract that will land in your wallet after one year period.
3. Weekly Airdrop Draw
Whether you availed the above two airdrops or not, there is more on offer now. Byteball has announced an interesting weekly draw where a prize of 200 Gigabytes (GB) and 422.22 Gigablackbytes (GBB — the Byteball's private currency) will be airdropped to a luck winner every week. This works like a lottery where you need not purchase any lottery ticket. But just hodl some Byteballs in your wallet. If you have completed the real name attestation as above, you will get 1 point per GB of balance up to 10 GB and additionally 0.1 point for each GB over 10 GB.
In case, you didn't complete your real name attestation, then you will get only 0.1 point per GB of balance. Remember, more point means more chances of winning.
