Plagiarism as it were is a phenomenon that can be attributed to the arts of most Steemians in the Steemit world. Unfortunately, there's no plagiarized art (post) that doesn't get the upvote of a cheetah bot and subsequently gets flagged down.
Why do Steemians fall victim of such a barbaric act of plagiarism? Why plagiarize one's effort or tend to claim the glory that should have been attributed to the rightful person or organization who expended so much physical and intellectual energy in creating the art; it could be an article, picture or others.
One of the reasons Steemians fall victim of such an act could be because of an embedded human greed factor, laziness in been creative or a lackadaisical nature. The effect for plagiarism in this case cheetah bot upvote could have been averted by a simple act or principle of referencing or citation; giving what belongs to Caesar to Caesar and receiving a handsome reward (upvotes) for sharing the information or art to the Steemit world. Stating, mentioning or embedding relevant links that can possibly lead a lover of such work to the original source is also a plus.
An act of proper referencing or citation can be time and energy saving for work done in copying (lifting) and pasting. I could like an art or work and might not wish to add or remove from it, but proper referencing or citation virtually grants my wish.
Cheetah bot upvote is a quite inevitable most times. One can still get upvoted by cheetah even after doing the needful. It is safer to create an original content or simply get the original link for work that isn't original. Let us abstain from plagiarism.
