Importance of Self-knowledge

in #alchemy6 days ago

Hey everyone, first of all I hope you had a good start into the new year and made some good resolutions! In this article I would like to go into an important topic and I am happy if you can learn new things.

Even the old alchemists knew that insights or reflections were one of the most important things on the way to enlightenment, because if people are surrounded by hurdles that prevent them from pursuing their true destiny and they do not even recognise it, they cannot detach themselves from it. As long as the free will of the individual is influenced by others, the way of thinking or acting is restricted and only when people manage to break free from the shackles of this external determination, the development of free will begins and if someone does not even recognise this, one is trapped in these shackles and the will of others is transferred to oneself. In order to free oneself from an indoctrination, people must first recognise that they are under one and the same can also be related to dependencies and as long as there is a bond and one is dependent on the other, freedom is also restricted and independence only begins when people manage to detach from things on which they are dependent. The fact that people are surrounded by constraints is often not easy to recognise and only possible if one deals deeply with oneself and thus it can be said that it's an important key which is already anchored inside of human and in order to be able to use this, it first need self-knowledge as a basis to be able to develop free will and free oneself from indoctrination. If an individual has recognised things and is left with no choice, things look different again and the path of enlightenment can also be restricted by the fact that there are those who put stones in your way and here it must always be differentiated whether they are stones from which one emerges more strongly or want to harm you or even block the path and from the moment when people no longer have a choice, self-knowledge is also limited.

There are supernatural laws and a free will and if the individual has no choice, this remains not unrecognised and this is often already the moment when those who put stones in the way already damage themselves more than some might want to admit and can count on an echo that others would also call karma. It's also an important part of self-knowledge why some people want to put stones in the way and often it is aspects of human weakness such as envy, greed, hatred, arbitrariness and it's not easy to keep your composure in such moments. A good metaphor is the carp from the Chinese mythology who once woke up and realised that there is another world far away from the habitat in which he lived and to get there, he first had to swim against the water flow and this path was surrounded by many hurdles or obstacles that wanted to stop him from this path. When the carp realised that there is another world out there, the moment of self-knowledge began, so to speak, and he broke away from the things that limit his way and decided to swim against the flow and in the end after many obstacles, he finally arrived. Before people begin to reflect on themselves or the environment, it's of course of great importance to give people food for thought and this would not be possible or only very difficult without aspects of enlightenment.

Interesting insight on the importance of self knowledge and the struggle to break the influence of others. To break the constraints, we need knowledge first and then the effort.

Happy to read your comment :)

you have good points, when one is used to being manipulated, it is its normal life, he doesn't see that it's not free will... just look at soldier kids, war is the life for them because they don't know what there is except war

I’m glad to hear your opinion and that you’re also thinking about the topic. This cannot be related directly to soldiers, but is probably a good example when it comes to the free will: In the end, it was also the reason why Caesar went down, as he transferred his own will to others and suppressed his companions.

In this post I just want to wish you a happy new year, may GOD shower you with blessings.

Happy new year dear @lupega

Self knowledge should never be underrated in any way
Self knowledge goes a long way and that’s why we all have to possess it

You said that well, it is an important basis to recognise things.

Happy New Year 2025 to you friend and blessed

Thanks, I wish you the same! Hope you survived the holidays well :)
