Elon Musk has been vocal about modernization and making necessary cuts to the US budget but what has caught my attention was his thoughts on the F-35 program.
In Musk's view, manned military jets are becoming obsolete and these newer jets serve no real purpose other than being the jack of all trades. His view is that drones with a remote pilot is the future. I agree with him, but I will say that the F-35 program should have been focusing on jets that specialize in specific fields. I'm not entirely against the production of manned vehicles for military expansionism, but if the project is meant to build jets for multi-purpose uses... That clearly is extremely expensive and a clear waste of tax payer dollars.
It would be nice to have "do it all" military jets, but that's simply moronic given how deep the United States is with debt. What are your thoughts on this?
