With progressives still using the term LatinX (yes, it still isn't dead); I'm going to ensure that people are aware of what the term means and how it is properly defined.
If you want to know what is Latinx? It's simply a term created by people who don't know Spanish or any romantic language and attempt to change it to appease people who don't accept binary languages.
In my years of hearing of this term and advocating against it, I continue to push back in 2024. It's insane that people are still trying to advocate for it even after the community rejected it. I guess it's one of those things that desperate progressive activists want to push for, but I will always be against it. It's my little part of the culture war, it focuses on definitions and identity. They said that the communists began controlling the words and definitions; they wanted to go after the children first; this sure seems like something they would do to get Latinos to hate their culture.
Just pondering.
I've written articles on the matter and want to expand further from a linguistic perspective. There is no reason this term should exist, and if it should, it should remain a slur.
