Here's a video of the "second round" in my two-round "dumbbell dynamite" workout. I picked up this routine from a boxing trainer on YouTube. This routine is perfect for anyone looking to build stamina while incorporating weights. It’s structured like two rounds of boxing, each round lasting 3 minutes. In the video, I’ve just finished the first 3-minute segment and after a short break, it's time for round two!
The idea behind this workout is simple: to keep your body moving with weights to boost endurance and strength. I’m using two 5-kilo weights and following a six-exercise sequence. Each rep lasts for 30 seconds (6 x 30 secs = 3 minutes = one round of boxing!)
Here’s a breakdown of the exercises:
- Overhead Tricep Extensions
- Upright Rows
- Bicep Curls
- Overhead Presses
- Bent-Over Rows
- Shoulder Shrugs
Each exercise is performed for 30 seconds, and you want to aim for about 15 reps during each interval. The great thing about this routine is that it’s quick, intense, and effective. You can get in two rounds with a break in between, all in under 10 minutes!

Recover with Livegood Essential Aminos!
Once you’re done with that, it’s time to refuel and recover, which brings me to my latest post-workout drink: LiveGood Essential Aminos.
I tried Livegood's lemon and lime flavour Essential Amino Acids for the first time in this video. I chose Livegood's EAAs over their other fitness supplements for their optimized blend of essential amino acids, branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), and electrolytes. The formula is supposed to help build lean muscle - which we tend to lose as we pile on the years - enhance stamina, and accelerate recovery - something I needed after going two rounds with the "dumbbell dynamite" routine!
That’s it for today!
If you try out this workout, let me know how it went for you.
Cheers,
David Hurley
