Deeper Definitions: Day 5: "E" is for "Ethics"

in #alphabetartchallenge7 years ago (edited)

So, I failed the #alphabetartchallenge on day 2. I was unable to find the passion for it to be frank, as my mind's attention was invested elsewhere. However, I want to give it a second go and have decided that for 26 days, I will offer my own, deeper definitions of commonly used words. Today is day five, so the letter is E. Tomorrow will be F, and so on and so forth. However, if I miss a day, for whatever reason, I must start again from day one and letter A, and I cannot use the same word twice. Hopefully I will not have to start again... again.

Ethics

noun:

1. an imposed set of moral principles

2. a branch of propaganda which uses psychological subversion techniques in order to condition the people to believe that what is right and wrong can only come from the most intelligent among society, as opposed to from within one's own life-experience. Proven to be an efficient means of deterring self-reflection within a population, ethics has been used throughout history to maintain public adherence to immoral societies.

examples:

"We guarantee that our baby lambs have a terrific six-week life here before we kill 'em in the most ethical way possible."

"I am sorry, but it wouldn't be ethical of us to perform an abortion at this stage of the pregnancy. If only you had gotten here three hours ago."

Tomorrow is F, feel free to make suggestions on what you want me to redefine next, though I think I may have already decided..

Sort:

Hmm, so I wonder what you would do with F for Freedom . . . . . .
